A Vampire's Heart
~Prolouge~
"Jaine, are you ready yet?" Aya asked.
I strapped the gun to my belt and looked up at her.
"Just a moment Aya."
"Well, hurry up! We wanna get there before the wolves fully wake up!" Aya walked away to join the rest of my little ambush group.
There was me, Aya, Corona, and Max, along with about eleven vampires I didn't know......
"Jaine!" Aya snapped.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" I snapped back and ran to them.

"Report."
"There are about five wolves awake right now Jaine, and their all guarding the rest of the supplies." Corona whispered.
"How should we go about the invasion?" Max asked me.
I thought for a moment.
"Max, you take Aya and a select bunch. I'll take the rest. We'll surprise them at all angles so there's no escape." I whispered.
"Yes Jaine." Max bowed and left, Aya close behind him.
As I watched Maximillion go, I could'nt believe that he is the actual vampire king by blood.
"I wonder why Max declined to being king?" I thought.
"Jaine, you're the one in charge of us yet you are not doing anything! Let's go!" Corona snapped. I stood up, glared at him, and led them to the open area.
I saw Max and his bregade on one side and he gave me the signal. Just as a group of wolves arrived out, we attacked.
I leaped onto on of the wolves and punched him in the throat.
Remebering that this was just a warning attack, I left him there on the ground.
"Attack them!" A wolf screamed.
I was easily fighting off every wolf that came nere me, I was actually enjoying myself, until I got a blow to the head.
All went black.

"Jaine! Get up your majesty!" A voice snapped.
I opened my eyes and saw a man. Long light black hair and beautiful blue eyes.
"Jaine, take my hand!" he said.
"Who..are you?" I whispered taking his hand.
"Angelus, a friend of your mothers." He said.
"Oh, he knew my mom.... he's too old for me then..." I thought.
"What happened to all the wolves?" I asked suddenly remebering what had happened.
"They retreated to a further campsite." Angelus said.
"Oh, what happened to me?"
"You were knocked unconscious by a wolf. He hit a pressure point in the back of your head. I'm sad to say, but he cracked your skull." Angelus said with a hint of laughter.
I was suddenly aware of the pain in the back on my head and the wetness of the blood flowing down my back.
"Was anyone else hurt?" I asked as he carried me.
"Aya was, but not badly. A broken wrist. It'll heal quickly. Let's get your head taken care of though and report back to Vex." Angelus said.
I sighed deeply.
"Aya got hurt..... I got hurt......The wolves retreated..... I feel like such a loser...." I thought.

"Jaine?" A voice said as I awoke from my nap after I went through surgery to stitch my head up. Vex walked in with Haine.
"Hello....." I whispered.
"I was so worried about you Jaine. That gash looks horrible." Haine, my mother, hugged me.
"Vex, I'm sorry." I whispered.
"Sorry about what Jaine? It's not your fault you got hurt."
"Yes, but it was my fault for getting overconfedent..... I feel like an idiot. I was enjoying the battle so much I forgot to protect myslef....... I failed you." I sulked.
Vex smiled lightly and sat beside me on the bed.
"Jaine, you tried. That's all that matters. And besides, five wolves died today."
Vex smiled.
"Five? That's it?!" I asked.
"That's it? Jaine you were only there for an hour...." Vex said.
"Really?" I asked.
Haine nodded.
I sighed deeply, but it was a sigh of relief.
"Jaine, I think you should rest a little longer. Vex and I can handle things, you barely sleep nowadays." Haine said.
"Alright, but that's not gonna stop me from fighting these things!" I said.
"Of course not Jaine. Just rest, we'll take care of the rest." Vex said and stood up.
The left the room, but stayed there on the other side for a moment.
"We have to do something Vex." I heard Haine say.
"I know, but it would be a risk to go now since their so on guard." Vex said.
Then I heard someone else walk up to them.
"Any news about him?" It was Corona.
"No, all we know is he's being held in the wolves lair." Haine said.
"I really hope he's alright. They better not of killed him!" Corona snapped.
"Corona, I doubt they could kill Angelus, but they could hurt him, that's why we have to find him as soon as possible." Vex said.
I heard them leave.
"Angelus....... he's the guy that saved me....." I relized.
