The Lost Demon
Chapter 3
We arrived at the hospital.
The doctors took one look at Prise and ran for a stretcher.
He refused to go until he knew I was taken care of first.
The doctors put me on a stretcher even though I told them I could walk.
They took us into the ER. Prise was right next door to me.
The doctors looked at my arm, my ribs and my head. I had one cracked rib, my elbow was split in half and I had a a bruised jaw bone. They told me I was to spend the night there.
"Excuse me? Nurse?" I asked as she got ready to put the finishing touches on my cast.
"Yes dear?" She asked smiling at me.
"How's Prise?" I asked.
"The young man next door?" I nodded.
The nurse sighed.
"The gash on his head needs to be stitched up, a couple broken ribs and broken fingers. His arm is all messed up. But the biggest concern for him would be that head wound. It's very deep." the nurse said.
I nodded. The nurse finished her work and left.
I sat alone in the room, looking at a blank TV screen.
"Maybe I'll just rest." I thought putting my head down.
------in the middle of the night----
I awoke to the sound of people in my room.
"How is she?" It was the doctor.
"She's doing fine. Poor girl must've been so tired, she's past out." That was the nurse.
"Are her parents aware she's here?" Doctor asked. My heart pounded.
"I looked in her records, I'm afraid this girl is an orphan." Nurse said quietly.
"Poor girl. She must be living with someone though."
"She is, she's living with her cousin Duke, down on Hazel street."
"Let's contact Duke then. He'll wanna know where she is."
I heard the doctor and nurse leave.
I felt a tear fall down my cheek.
"Mom.......Dad......" I whispered. But then I heard a loud noise.
I gasped and sat up quickly.
There was someone still in my room. I looked over at the door, no one was there.
My heart was pounding, then I heard slight breatheing coming from behind me.
I slowly turned around and saw a shadow of a person.
I tried to scream, but no sound came out.
The person didn't come closer to me, but instead turned the lamp light on.
I gasped when I saw his face.
It was that guy! The one from the fountain! Black hair, black clothes and golden eyes.
"You!" I gapsed. He stared at me with those cold eyes.
"What do you want with me?" I asked quietly.
"Are you Dawn?" He asked me.
My heart pounded.
"Yes..." to my surprise, he smiled.
"About time. It's a pleasure to meet you!" He smirked.
I was so confused at this point.
"Um..... who are you?" I asked.
"You can call me Damu. I've been following you around for a while Dawn." Damu smiled.
"You've been stalking me?!" I gasped.
"More like obsessivley shadowing you." Damu laughed.
I glared.
"What do you want with me?" I asked.
Damu was sitting on my bed in less then a second.
"I'm interested in you Dawn. I've seen plenty of human girls in this past week, but you are very entertaining. Getting into fights, and the whole obsessed with demons bit. That's very rare in a girl so cute." Damu whispered.
"I can not believe some person I don't even know is hitting on me!" I thought.
"Interested in demons huh?" I was able to say, then my heart stopped as his hand came up to hold my chin.
"I'm not interested in demons, I am one." He whispered into my ear.
I shivered. Not because I was cold, but the sound of his voice in my ear was like cool wind. It took so much strength to push him away from my ear.
"There's no such things as demons in reality." I said, heart pounding.
"Wanna bet?" Damu stood up and suddenly I watched him unfurl two giant black demonic wings. My eyes grew large as I stared at his wings.
"You're a demon..." I gasped. Then Damu was next to me again, his face was so close our noses were almost touching.
"Ever dreamed of what it'd be like to date a real demon?" He whispered.
