Chapter 2 On the Run
Caroline sort of pushed Jack away and muttered, " Sorry, got to go." She ran in the direction Dr. Troy went as fast as she could, leaving Jack feeling a little dazed.
Out of her pocket, Caroline fished out her tracking device,also called TD. She turned it on and said into the speaker, "Dr. Troy Civics." TD processed her voice to confirm it was her and started processing for Dr. Troy's whereabouts now. "Confirmed." a female voice said pleasently. TD showed her apoint that was moving ona digital map of Venice. According to this, she thought he must be going to Rio di Palazzo. Again, she said into the tracking device, "Quickest way to Rio di Palazzo." TD processed the information and said, "Here," and showed a route that was marked to Rio di Palazzo. Caroline looked at it, if Dr. Troy was going the other way, she could probably get there before him. She went right, and followed the route that TD had showed her, hoping that it might not make her stnd out that she was a girl with a tracking device that was with very high quality running.
After a few minutes, Caroline had finally reached Rio di Palazzo. She looked in wonder around her. People were chatting in Italian and eating at the cafes, there were bridges, and a canal with gondolas going this way and that. And the sights...the sights were absolutely AMAZING. The clear blue sky up and the water. She was in awe and knew that she was only looking at a part of it.
Just then, a man with spiky, black hair, a white lab coat, white gloves, incredibly green eyes, and black googles on his head suddenly appeared. Caroline was surprised but not for long. Dr. Troy spotted her and looked frightened. Dr. Troy was only strong with his machines. Without them, he was powerless. He turned and ran, but Caroline was faster. She pounced on him and Dr. Troy fell with a thud. Caroline got out some masking tape and taped his mouth and his feet and arms together at rapid speed. She glanced at her watch. She had finished taping in 30 seconds. She grinned. New Record.
