The Lost Demon chpt. 1
The Lost Demon
Chapter 1

It was horrifiying. My first day in California. I never imagined it would turn out like this. My name is Dawn. I'm a 16 year old girl who has just witnessed the most aweful thing that could ever happen to an adolescent, I just witnessed the death of both my parents. We were on our way to our new house when we was a building on fire. My father was in the fire department back when we lived in Arizona, so of course he ran out to help. My mother ran out with him and told me to stay in the car. By what was going on outside, I figured out that there were people still inside the fiery building. Flaming debree flew everywhere and ashes and smoke cloaked the sky in a big ugly black cloud. I prayed that my parents would just comeback into the car and we could leave, but they didn't. My mother was trying to comfort a screaming mother as I saw my father race into the burning building.
"Dad!" I gasped and left the car to stand beside my mom.
"Dawn! Get back to the car! Now!" my mother screamed.
I hesitated, which was something I should've never done. A giant part of the rooftop came crashing down. It was going to fall on me and It was so wide I would never escape it. My mother left the woman and pushed me out of the way. I went spinning back and into a car nearby.
I heard a loud crash and looked back to see the debree landed on my mom, killing her instantly.
"No! MOM!" I screamed. A police officer came and grabbed my hand, telling me it's not safe and that the building was going to collapse.
"My father's still in there!" I pleaded.
"We need to get you safe first kid!" The officer ran, still holding my wrist.
"I ran beside him, tears streaming down my face.
I looked back at the building to see it crumbling down to the ground. And I almost swore, I heard my father screaming for help. I collapsed to my knees in sobs and moans, the officer picked me up and brout me to the station.
For hours, I sat on a chair, not saying anything. In shock that both my parents just died. It took along time before I started talking again.
"Hey, do you mind if I sit down?" A voice asked me.
I looked up and saw it was a boy. Red hair and clear blue eyes. He was covered in soot and burns all over his arms. He must've been at the fire.
"Go ahead." I whispered.
"I'm Prise." He said holding his hand out for me to shake.
I didn't shake it. He frowned and sighed.
"I heard the doctors saying both your parents got killed. I'm sorry." He said softly. I nodded and began crying again. Prise sat with me the remainder of the time there.
It's a month later, I am living with my cousin, Duke. Life's going alright, except I have no friends and I'm an orphan. You wondering why I have no friends? First off, I refuse to talk to people cause all they do is talk about how sorry they are about my loss, and second, they think I'm weird. Just because I'm obsessed with demons!
"Hey! Dawn!" a voice called.
I opened the window and saw Prise standing outside with his skateboard.
"You coming?" He called up. I smiled.
"I'll be right down!" I siad and closed the window. At least I have one friend, ever since that day my parents died he's been the only one there for me. He's my best friend ever.
I ran downstairs.
"Where to?" I asked.
"I don't know. Let's just walk around for a while." Prise laughed totally clueless.
"Alright then! I'll be back later Duke!" I called.
"Whatever." He shrugged and ignored me.
As we were walking, I thought I saw someone beside the fountain in the main square. He looked creepy. Dressed in all black, black hair and of what I could see, golden eyes. He looked un-human, kinda like a demon!
He suddenly looked my way and I gasped.
"What is it Dawn?" Prise asked.
"That guy!" I pointed.
Prise looked.
"What are you? Going crazy? There's no one there!" He said.
"What? But he's right there smiling at me!" I said.
Prise lifted one eyebrow at me.
"I swear!"
I looked back, he wasn't there."
I blinked.
"Let's go Dawn." he laughed.

(What just happened? Find out in chapter 2!)
