Three words never damage so much at one time.
The whisper hits your nerves like a bullet.
In one ear and out the other.
As you looked into the eyes of the one and asked why.
You heart slowly becomes like water.
Feelings spilling out of your mouth so rapid you can’t inhalation.
You know this is it.
As they take you in their arms.
They speak every remark as if they practice it in the mirror.
Behind each lie brings new hope to your soul.
Sadly they will not call you back.
And the unread letters you sent sit under the bed.
Now only the dust knows how much damage three words did.
To a soul that never truly was.
