Designed Madness: the misadventures of a chinese bloke Downunder
A daily blow-by-blow from a bloke trying to get by in a world full of firms with seemingly unlimited budgets, and to produce something better with his own two hands.

Welcome to my journal.

Well, what can I say. I'm not as young as most of you, probably a lot less cashed up, and definitely in hard times at the moment. I'm an Industrial Designer specializing in part design for motorsports application, but with experience in graphics, Flash and Dreamweaver, furniture, sporting equipment, furniture, vehicle styling and am capable of using most popular design-oriented programs(Photoshop, Illustrator, GIMP, etc) as well as an array of solid modelling/testing programs(Solidworks, COSMOS Works, Rhino, MAYA, etc) I'm a fair artist and am proficient in both traditional comic and manga style work, as well as a well-rated writer.

My background is in motor mechanics, specifically troubleshooting and repair though for the last few years I have been involved in producing one-off parts for specialist applications in order to make ends meet during Uni. Currently I'm dabbling in composite materials technology. I've had some successes, including making it to the finals in every design comp I've entered and having previously produced one of Victoria's most successful Club Cars, which I personally own and race in the 4WD/4cylinder, under-2000cc class. Its won accolades in two enthusiast publications, with one pending and has been awarded several times at show-and-shine events while still being a consistant top-five and top-three finisher at every event, having never been out of the top ten placings.

I have some experience in small business ventures, as well as corporate client briefs to go with the one-off work that I usually do.

But anyhoo, that's me.

Nothing much happenned today really; test-fitted the new widebody to establish ranges since I'll be pumping the wheel track out considerably. Got paid a bit, and got a new brief to work on for yet another product. Hopefully this one goes through the process quickly; I really need another payout to keep things moving forward.
