Holy hell. I've seen at least 4-5 of them today. They are all stupid.
You are poor. You are new. Boo ******** hoo. You can't have them. Older Gaian's have them. Well that's because they've been on Gaia a long time. That shows dedication to Gaia. And it takes dedication to quest for the gold necessary to get those items as well. Call it the Principal of Equivalent Trade if you want.
So stop trying to propose methods to the admins where they re-release some old items cause you are too lazy to work hard to get them otherwise. The admins are not going to piss off old loyal Gaians by ******** the value of their inventories. And I don't just mean value based on gold, but also in uniqueness, prestige, etc.
And they release new ******** items for new people. A new Donation item comes out every month. Collect those and wait for their value to rise. And the admins seem to plan on remaking some items and releasing them...like the Jacked Up items and the Really Jacked Up items. I wonder what the Really Jolly Hat will look like.

-When the battle system comes out, certain items may give users large advantages. If someone with a halo becomes god becuase they have one, then that's not very fair, because it's IMPOSSIBLE for newer users to get a halo no matter how hard they work at it.
-They're just pixels, and being able to play with them on your avatar would be really fun. :] A lot of people would be happy.
But I do think that re-releasing should be extremely limited. I like the idea of a very long, time-consuming, hard quest to get a purple box, which has low odds of giving you anything good.
