A Vampire's Soul
Chapter 3
"I can't let Maximillion die!" I thought.
"Vex....."
I turned around and looked at Max. He was looking up at me.
"We need to.....save Aya....." he whispered and tried to sit up.
"Max, lie back down. You are in no condition to get up." I said quietly.
Max blinked at me uncomprehending.
"Max, the wound on your leg has grown and infection and it's slowly spreding throughout your body. If you move it'll only spred faster. Please, lie down Max."
Cara said patiently but with a hint of worry in her voice.
Max looked at her, frowned and lied back down.
"We need.....to save her....." he said again.
"Max, we can't do anything until you get better." Cara sighed.
There was a long silence. Then Max spoke up.
"Vex?"
I looked down at him again.
"I need you.... to do something..... for me."
"What is it Max?" I asked leaning down.
"Go to..... Victor of the Warlocks....... he will be able to... heal me faster."
"Where is he? How do I find him?!" I asked.
"I don't know. I was..... brought there.....while unconscious. Jacob knows though.....Go to the castle......he'll lead you there."
I looked down at Max. His face was beat red and his breathe was rough.
I stood up.
"Cara, take care of Max while I'm gone." She looked up at me.
"You can't leave now! Not alone!" she gasped and stood up.
"Cara! Do you want Max to live? Because I do! And if I don't go now, Max is going to die again!" I snapped.
Cara sighed, she understood, but she was worried about me.
I sighed deeply and took her hand.
"Cara, nothing's going to happen to me. Believe me, I'm just going to see my parents for help. I'll miss you Cara, but I need you to stay here and take care of Max until I return. Can you do that?"
Cara nodded slowly without looking up, a single tear falling down her cheek.
"I love you." she whispered.
I smirked.
"I love you too Cara. Don't worry, I'll be back as soon as I can."
I hugged her tightly, then said good-bye and left.

"Wesley?" Aya looked over at him.
He was asleep in the corner, still covered in dried up blood.
Aya sighed and sat back down.
She curled her tail around her feet to keep them warmer.
"Max....." she thought. A tear fell down her cheek as she recalled the sight of him crashing into the raging river and getting pulled under by the current.
Aya pulled her knees closer to her and cried into her hands.
"Please be alive Max! Please!" she cried silently.
Suddenly the door opened. A group of scientists walked in.
By this time Wesley awoke from hearing Aya cry.
"There she is. Get her." One guy said. The scientists opened up the door to Aya's cage and grabbed her.
"Let me go! Leave me alone!" She screamed and bit into the guys arm.
He yelped then two more came and grabbed her. Eventually, she stopped struggleing. She was so weak and hungry, she couldn't try.
"Aya! Let her go you assholes!" Wesley screamed.
"Take her to the lab. Dominic, take care of the wolf." a scientist said.

I was resting underneith a bridge. It was a chilly night, and it was very quiet.
I was already halfway to the castle.
I leaned back and looked up at the night sky. It was somewhat cloudy, but I saw one star shining through it all.
I smiled. It was our star. Aya's and mine. The one that always shone itself in the sky no matter what weather. I sighed.
"You better be alright Aya....." I whispered and stood up.
As I continued walking, I got a strange feeling that I was being watched.......
I heard a twig snap and instantly spun around.
In less then a second I was pinned to the ground by a girl!
She had long silky black hair, hazel eyes and looked about my age, but she was furious, and in her hand she held a dagger, aimed at my heart.
"Who are you?!" I asked trying not to panic.
"I am Jaine, the vampire slayer. It's time for you to die leech!"
