Rising above distant peaks
is our luminescent moon,
its dim face illuminated by sudden light streaks.
Fast asleep, creatures are unaware,
silenced by weariness
and the absence of the sun's bright flares.
Predators and prey rest from their relentless chase.
Their incessant chattering ceases,
leaving reticent darkness's gentle embrace.
Now dawn's frigid wind caresses the earth
as a lone bird chirps a joyful song
to greet the sunlight's long-awaited birth.
