I was lying in bed
With only a blanket to keep me warm
on this chilly mid spring night
As I closed my eyes
I dreamed of falling in an endless hole
As I had expected to happen
But something changed
I drop in a dead land
Black, charred, lifeless land
No plants, trees, animals, or human was there
Only I was alone
With a hard past that kept haunting me
It replayed in my head
I shut my eyes tight and
Covered my ear with my shaking hands
I screamed
But a light appeared
It showed the future me with my family and kids
I smiled
But all of a sudden
The kids turned mutant
Mother Earth was dying
She tried to heal herself
But the chemicals dumped were preventing her from healing
Animals and humans alike were suffering
Earth was dying
I screamed again
Then I opened my eyes
It was a dream
A darkening dream
That seems to be waiting to happen
