It seems to me that anything one may find beatiful, truly beautiful and moving must be touched with a slight sadness. Not a sadness of envy, but one of regret that this beaitiful thing, be it bird, book or anything else, that this piece of delight moulded into a creation before you must someday pass. Transience touches everything, so should not the true appreciation of beauty, be to mourn it's passing, as it one day will pass? To feel the ache in your heart, even as it soars from the object of your contemplation? And I find it is that ache which makes it so much more real, so much better to appreciate. Bittersweet is the order of the day, and one that I revel in.
