The First Vampire Cat
Chapter 10
I looked over at where he was, and Max was over him, covered in blood with a knife to Vex's throat. My mind raced. I wanted to run over and help but my body wouldn't react. But suddenly, I heard Vex's scream, and I just began running.
"Maximillion!" I screamed, tears already begining to stream down my face.
Max glanced at me, his black eyes full of anger and hatred, then he turned back to Vex and stabbed him. "No!" I screamed and threw myself at Max, knocking him off of Vex. Vex yowled in pain. I spun around and leaned down besides Vex.
"It's alright....He missed....." Vex whispered. He was right, Max stabbed him in the shoulder. But there wasn't time to rejoice, Max stood up. He started panting and his evil eyes burned into mine. "Run Aya! I don't want you to get hurt!"
Vex said, wincing. But I didn't leave. I didn't run. Instead, I stood up looking Max in the eyes.
"What the hell are you doing?! You're gonna get yourself killed!" Vex howled.
I ignored him, and ran towards Max. Ignoreing all of Vex's screams, I jumped over Max as he tried to attack me, spun around, and grabbed him tightly.
"Max, stop this!" I hugged him. Max struggled in my arms, he tried to turn, and get loose by clawing at me and biteing. I didn't let go. I wouldn't.
"Maximillion! This isn't you! You are not bad! I know the real you is in there!
Max, you're hurting people! Please! Snap out of it, you're scareing me!" I cried.
After a few seconds, Max's body seemed to stop fidgeting. He was still growling like mad, but he was begining to calm down.
"Max, I'm terrified of you right now. But I know this isn't who you really are!
I want the old Max back! I want the Maximillion that I fell in love with!" I screamed without thinking it through. I heard three gasps. One from me, one from Max and the last from Vex. Max seemed to be back to normal, he turned his head to me. His red eyes were confused and bewildered. Then he just collapsed in my arms, unconcious. I fell to my knees from the weight of him. I layed Max on the ground, then remembered about Vex. I looked over at him. His eyes showed that he was hurt. He was trying to hide tears back.
"You.....love him?" he whispered. I stood up.
"Vex.... I......." I struggled with what I was saying. I did love Max, but I loved Vex as well! "I do love Max, but I also love you!" I said.
Vex sat up, grimacing.
He sat there, looking into the distance motionless.
"Vex?" I began to walk towards him. His head swung around.
"Don't come near me!" He snapped. I gasped and took a step back.
My heart was pounding. Vex stood up.
There was a long silence.
"Why......why him?! What does he have that I don't?" Vex said breaking the silence between us.
"I don't know..... I'm just falling in love with him, because of who he is."
(oops, wrong choice of words!)
"Because of who he is?! Aya! He's a monster! He's a demon! You saw what just happened! He tried to kill me and you! He's going bad! He won't be able to protect you forever Aya! He'll turn on us again, and next time, you won't be able to cure him!" Vex screamed.
"You're wrong Vex! Max will never go bad!"
"Tell that to Wesley's dead body in the forest or my blood-gushing shoulder!
He tried to kill us tonight Aya! Because he is a demon!"
I was begining to cry again.
"Who are you going to trust Aya?! Your best friend in the entire world, who will love you forever, or that demon that tried to kill us last night!?"
"JUST STOP IT VEX!!!" I screamed.
"I don't know who I can trust anymore! There's a chance even you will become a demon! It's so annoying! I don't know what to do!" I sunk to my knees and cried.
Slowly, Vex came over and stood me up. He looked into my eyes.
"I'm sorry Aya. I didn't mean to upset you. Yes, there is a chance I might become a demon as well, but if I do......I'll just have to accept it. But I love you Aya. And I want to be with you forever."
"But, I'm not immortal like you and Max are....... I can die of old age anyday now..." I cried. Vex gave a tiny smile.
"That's where I come in."
Vex pushed my lips into his shoulder and forced me to drink his blood.
"You'll be with me forever." he said.
Two minutes later, I felt two razor sharp teeth grow in my mouth.
I was a vampire cat.
