i make a point to talk to a lot of ppl online every night thru a chat program called mIRC. one of the channels i chat in has a regular i chat to once in a while. i haven't been on there for 3 days, but tonight when i went on, it was unusually quiet... toooooo quiet... this regular, whose name i cannot mention, was going thru a heart surgery today. his 7th one. this was supposed to be a "simple clean up." he was born with a heart defect, which made his heart run "backwards," or so to speak. either way, this was supposed to be his final surgery. his heart freaked when they took him off the machine... his heart isn't pumping at full capacity either. if he's going to be ok, they'll leave him on a machine in the hospital for no less than 5 days for recovery, maximum is about 3 weeks. unfortunately, they're not sure yet if he has any brain damage. if there is a certain extent to the brain damage... they're going to have to flip the switch off... my dad has had 2 heart surgeries. i know the risks and the recovery time, but i never imagined something like this would happen during a routine procedure. we'll all be finding out more information tomorrow... if his brain is okay, and the heart is the only thing thats ******** up, he may just need a while to recover. if not... then they pull the plug. my prayers are with him..........
