.. this weird talk we got from the vicar at school last week.
Seeing as it is Easter, he came in and talked to us in assembly about what he thought Easter was all about.
It went on for ages, and was - for me - very boring >.>
One thing did grab my attention at the end of his speech, though.
He was saying that humans were disbelieving in God more and more, and thinking that we could live without him. 'This is the God that made the world; that made us. And we are standing up to him and saying 'I don't need you. I don't need any of your help' '
Which, yeah, is fair enough if that is what you think.
And then he went on to say that as a punishment for this, God was inflicting Global Warming onto us.
Which, if I am right, is completely wrong.
Correct me if I'm wrong on this one, but isn't Global Warming down to too much Carbon Dioxide and other gases in the atmosphere?
I myself don't really believe in God, but it is nice sometimes to know that there is - or could be - someone there who will listen.
I don't go to church - except in primary school, when we had to go a couple of times a year for special services. And I don't really believe the story of creation.
So, forgive me if I'm wrong, Global Warming has nothing to do with our sins, but is caused by gases which we have produced.
This is our fault, but we are the ones causing it by our new way of life, not by our sins etc
I kinda got a bit annoyed at him after that, but if it's what he believes, I can't stop him.
Sorry if I've offended any of you, it's just I felt that it was wrong, and completely unscientific.
