Clouds cover the vast sky,
The first track meet is nigh,
Cold rain pours down,
We huddle in the stands to not drown,
As starting time draws near,
The storm intensifies along with our fear,
We silently take our places at the line,
Wary that the storm is some kind of sign,
The rain refreshed and make plants lush,
Everyone felt a tangible adrenaline rush,
The gun raised to fire,
Of waiting we did tire,
BAM!
The race began,
We sped around the track,
With freezing rain pelting our backs,
We ran faster and faster,
Showing the other team who was the true master,
The finish line loomed ahead,
With it , a sense of dread,
We pushed hard,
Crossed the line, and our title we did guard.
