An Adolescent Vampire
Chapter 5
"You're a full-blood vampire Haine." Corona sighed.
It took me a moment to return to the real world, but when I did my hand instintly flung to my neck remembering the attack. Jake sat down beside me.
"I can't believe it..." I said softly. Jake sighed.
"Don't worry Haine, I'll take care of you. Max and I both will! We'll help you get through this." Jake said softly. I felt a few tears forming at the end of my eyes.
"Thanks.... I guess...." I sighed, still in a trance. Suddenly, the guard, whom name I still don't remember, jolted around.
"Corona! Get them out of here! Their coming!" I looked at Corona.
"Quickly! This way!" she ran to the door, Jake scooped me up in his arms.
As Jake ran after Corona, Max followed.
"Whats's going on?!" I asked. Jake looked down at me.
"Your father is after you. He told you leave, and instead found out you are a vampire. That riled him up and his demon side took over. He's asked every vampire to hunt you down." Jake said with a determined look in his eyes. "But I'm never letting them lay one dirty look on you Haine!"
I was surprised. I've never seen Jake like this before! It made me smile despite the fact my own father wants me dead.
"Alright, now go! Never come back and never stop running." Corona opened a hidden door. Max ran out, but Corona stopped Jake to speak to me.
"Your father will stop at nothing to kill you. Trust me, that's how my family died.
I really hope you live Haine, you're a sweet kid. But I can never see you again.
I'll give you until dusk tomarrow to run. But after that, even I will be hunting you.
I'm sorry, but I must obey my king." Corona smiled. I nodded.
"Good-bye then Corona." I said. "And thank you."
"You're welcome my princess. Now go! Before he finds you!"
Jake ran to catch up with Max.
"Now what?" Max asked. I looked up at Jake.
"We do what we have to do. Run to stay alive." He sighed putting me down.
I suddenly relized how different it felt with vampire teeth. They were bigger, and really sharp! Then, suddenly, I felt..... strange.
"Jake?....." I rasped. He looked at me and gasped. I felt a power surge throughout my body, my head pounded, I went blind and I began to scream for no reason.
I had a strong feeling of hunger..... for blood.... I looked at Max.
"I......need.....blood!" I panted.
