My friends are the most important people that I could possibly have in my life. My family are my closest friends, in all honesty, sometimes. Having friends means having a shoulder to cry on when you're sad, someone who will defend you when you're attacked. Someone to pick you up when you're knocked down. Someone who cares what you think and will listen to you no matter how silly you sound, who will believe you even though no one else does, who will fill that empty space inside your heart where the loneliness invades and laughter seems to disappear. A friend is someone to share a joke with, and no matter how stupid it was, they'll still laugh. They don't care how you look, they judge you based on personality. As I once heard said, a best friend will see the first tear, catch the second, and stop the third. Friends are the best thing to have.
