Part 10: The Mother
Sasu-chan's school life was getting a little better, he managed to make friends with some of the misfits of the school. He was however under the watchful gaze of one of the teachers from the Konoha's Ninja Academy, this made Sasuke a little more relieved. "I was thinking that maybe you should advance him," Iruka-sensei sat down with Sasuke one after noon while Sasu-chan took a nap. "He is quite good and out of the..."
"I won't," Sasuke finally got up to make some tea. "I saw what a mistake that was for Itachi-ni, I won't have my nephew under that same treatment. Aniki was wonderful, but he didn't know how to be a child, I won't have Sasu-chan under that much pressure."
Iruka-sensei smiled at him. "I suppose maybe I will expect to see him when he turns eight then, I look forward to teaching him. He seems like a sponge, he absorbs just about anything."
After they parted, Sasu-chan woke from his nap and gazed from the door to the bedroom. Sasuke turned to look at his nephew who yawned and looked rather drowsy. "Its hot," Sasu-chan complained.
"I know, its summer and we should be...." Sasuke stopped speaking when he saw his nephew suddenly collapse. "SASU-CHAN!"

Sasuke sat inside a bedroom that was relatively cooler than the apartment. "You don't have air conditioning?" Tsunade-sama finally decided to approach this situation differently than the other medical ninja were. "I think maybe it might be a good idea to move him to a place where we can run an air conditioner on him. Psychic children are very senstive from what I have gathered for you, weather can either make them well or maybe even kill them. Sasuke-kun, gomen, but I am not having you move back to your place."
"So its just heat stroke?" Sasuke finally sat very still.
"Yes, and with the weather being as hot as it is and the chances are slim for rain, Sasu-chan might die if he's out there too long."
This was not going to be good, sitting staring out the window, he had to decide what was the best action to be taken. "She's offering," Sasuke muttered and looked at his nephew. "I can't afford air conditioning and even though it is a luxary that most people have, Ninja don't usually have this thing." He looked upset, he knew that if he didn't do something to change this situation.
Kakashi was pretty much the only person who openly agreed that air conditioning was really useless for a ninja who never spent time at home. Though he realized soon enough that Sasu-chan was a lot different than a normal Ninja child. "So you made the dicision to allow Tsunade-sama take Sasu-chan until you can get an air conditioner?"
"That's the sum of it," Sasuke nodded staring at his tea. "I was hoping that Sasu-chan would out grow some of the psychic things, but seriously, it hasn't really changed anything. He still gets visions, he can still see spirits too, sometimes though I feel like its eventually going to earn him more pain. And I haven't even told him that his mother was located."
Looking gravely at his own tea, Kakashi nodded as if in thought. "The raiding party on the old Akatsuki base only earned us that woman and even then she was not much help. She never held loyalty to them and for some reasons she is maintained nothing of her life. I think Izuma-kun stopped her from killing herself, then Anko-san had the unfortunate luck to watch over her to keep her from killing herself."
"I can see that I can't have that person near him," Sasuke finally wished he had someone who could understand his situation with him. "I'm stuck with a psychic child and I don't have to handle this, what should I do?"
"You're asking me?"
"Kakashi-sensei, you're the only one who is remotely similar to Sasu-chan in everyway. I can't keep pretending to not notice that he's different from other children. What will happen if he gets his Sharingan and his psychic powers double with it? I can't help him, nor can he control himself long enough to know that he's going to be alone."
"That's not a good thing to mention to him now, he's not going to be alone, but Sasuke-kun should you consider this, but maybe that woman, Hitori-sama might help him only in words."
****
Anko hated this, not only did she have to make sure that the insane psychic lady was bound at all times, but all weapons were kept out of her reach. When that woman had learned of Itachi's death, she attempted one of many suicide attempts. She pulled Anko's kunai out and attempted to stab heself in the throat to bleed to death, but that only led her with Anko on top of her pulling the weapon away.
The nightmares were slightly more dangerous of times than when the woman was awake. Uchiha Hitori was disturbed to the point that she would have cursed her own children, if that was the case, Anko was not about to let the small Uchiha child, Sasu-chan even know about that woman.
"I don't think it would be a good idea," she simply told the Fifth Hokage. "That woman would be the death of her son, Sasuke-kun told me she even tried to kill her own son."
Anko though was now removed from watching Uchiha Hitori and was having more fun playing with Sasu-chan who was sitting on the floor of a bedroom at the hospital. "I want to play outside," the boy gazed at her.
"You know what the doctor said," Anko picked him up and laughed. "Not too long in the sun, little guy." She called Sasu-chan her Little Guy, he was simply so small and so unlike any other Uchiha that she had ever met. It is hard to believe that my former partner, Itachi could have such an adorable little boy, she thought. She never said much about her partnership with Itachi and Sushui until after the Uchiha massacre. She even denied that it happened, it was would have been impossible for someone like Itachi who let insults roll off him like water to do something like this.
Sasu-chan ran around the playground, though she had to keep him from running up trees and spending his chakra so much. He didn't pull away from her when she picked him up and threw him into the air. "You are not getting away, Uchiha!"
"ACK! Help!" He laughed and held onto her as she tickled him. "STOP IT!"
She laughed too, then took him back into his bedroom when that spending of energy was done. "Now you know what you have to do, don't you?" she told him as the little boy blinked up at her. "Take your nap."
"I don't want to," he stammered, but she fixed him with a serious gaze.
"Go on," she pushed him toward his bedroom. "Come on, even I hated naps at this age, but you know your uncle wouldn't stand for you to miss it."
It was the end of that argument.
