Perspective.
From your negative perspective, there's a lack of respect for life because women are having abortions and people are committing suicide.
From another perspective, maybe there's MORE respect for life. More respect for the woman (who might get an abortion), to continue to lead a better, more productive life. More respect for her education or job (which drives the economy and betters society, no one benefits from a society full of unemployed people) and for any children she already has that she might not be able to care so well for after having another.
Suicide, is a personal choice. While I don't agree with it, you COULD look at is as a final act of almost ultimate kindness. Someone who does NOT wish to be around, who's simply sucking up resources, takes themselves out of the equation and that means more resources for those of us who actually want to be here and plan to be productive, not just off ourselves at some point.

I've been browsing a lot of the forums for the past few hours looking for something that interested me in the slightest bit, and in this looking, I've come across some interesting threads. The thought for this thread is spawned by one I came across in Life Issues, some girl who says she's 12 and wants to know if there's any sort of homemade spermicide. Its not clear weather or not she's a troll, but it brings up an interesting question and I want serious thoughts on this:
-Is it just me or are kids losing their virginity at younger ages?
-Is it just me or are kids losing their virginity at younger ages?
Quote:
-Why are young children so eager to experience their first time?
Quote:
-Does losing your virginity to your "true love" just not exist anymore?
Quote:
-Is it possible to actually be in love at the ages of 11-13? (..and I don't mean puppy love here, I mean honest to goodness love)
Quote:
-Does anyone else think that some of the clothes put out for the younger generations (anyone younger than 13 [15 is pushing it]) are getting skimpier?

In short you're suffering from False Nostalgia.

I'm amazed over Member #1's ability to devalue life and to take personal responcibility out of the equation to the extend they did. Then this member had the audacity to claim the other member had a "negative perspective" because they valued life.
The gist of Member #1 post? It's alright to murder and commit suicide to save money and resources.
Don't tell me human sacrifice is not practiced today.
Member #2 remarks? I'm too flabbergasted to add a comment about this one right now.
