DragonLance...~weeps in despair~
I like Green Eggs and Ham compared to what I had to sit through and watch last night.

Dragonlance

I've read every book in this Tolkein influenced story (Weiss and Hickman are Tolkien fans) and was horrified at the cartoon/movie that I sat and watched unfold on my tv. My expectations were not high to begin with knowing that Wizards of the Coast (what else could I expect from a CARD company!) had the rights to make the movie. It's not even a real D&D company but gained it's status as such by buying the financially troubled TSR, and from there forever butchering the way D&D is played.
But, being a long time admirer of the DragonLance story, I gave the movie a shot.

I would have sank to my knees and sobbed had not been trying to get and eye full of the cartoon Raistlin (Keifer Sutherland's voice does not deserve to come of Raistlin Majere's mouth anymore than Lucy Lawless's voice needs to come out of Goldmoon's, EVER!) and Wizards of the Coast should be embarassed that they put out such a poorly made movie and even tried to understand the richly developed world of Krynn and the characters that millions of fans the world over have come to truly admire and love.

On behalf of the fans, I'm begging someone, anyone who does CGI movies to rescue this debacle of a movie from the hands of Wizards of the Coast and give it the credit it deserves as a one time New York Times best seller.

Ira.
