And how I wished upon a star;
While I have worked oh so hard.
To dream and actually find peace
Is what I want tonight.
So many have offered me words,
Ones that I refused to accept...
But tonight as my mind wanders far...
I released what is truly mine.
The talents that I thought,
Were a whim.
Have now taken over my very being,
And I release myself to them.
Do not take for granted,
What has always been there.
For the future is never on solid ground,
And the sketch nothing more than a whim.
The truth beseeches you, my friend.
I have heard it on the wind.
Do not mock the gift you are given this night;
Except it to let you win.
So the words offered to you,
are wisdom just revised.
And when the time comes for you,
Do not forget to compromise.
And the blessing that kiss your brow,
Shall always remain true.
But do not let common sense ruin,
What was honestly given to you.
