Catch-22. People in GD complain that the forum's mods don't spend enough time or make enough effort to remove all the spam, trolling and crap from the forum. According to a certain subsection of the GD populace, mods are lazy, arrogant, rarely active slackers who're only in it for the glory of the position and being able to boss around other users, and don't actually give a toss about the tidiness or otherwise of the forum. "Damnit, the mods should be more active in the forum!" they cry, exhorting the GD-dedicated mod team to greater efforts in the name of their (and our) beloved forum. But! If the moderators, in the course of being actively busy around the forum, should happen chastise a prominent or well-known member of GD for spamming or breaking the Terms of Service then all hell breaks loose. Suddenly the moderators are draconian oppressors on a par with Stalin, Franco and Pol Pot combined. How dare they try to apply the rules to our beloved prominents! How dare they treat a prominent who posts image spam the same as Nooby McFlamePants who does likewise! How dare they be so disrespectful as to ban the prominent's account! How dare they not cut the prominent a break and let them go scot free! And the prominent, of course, has never ever even thought about doing anything even vaguely counter to the Terms of Service. Ever! Pure as the driven snow! Totally without sin! And they have a horde of gibbering sycophants to prove it! Down with the mods! Mods suck! Forum nazis! Oppressors! So, what they mean when they say "you should spend more time enforcing the rules" is actually closer to "you should spend more time enforcing the rules on those other guys over there". surprised - Zahir

	I feel it's that way due to most of the popullation consits of teenagers still in highschool And usually those students obsess over such petty little things Because they don't know any better It's more like... a popularity contest to users from what I can tell :/ Just a guess

	It is all about popularity and status. D: Mostly the whole point of GD is jockeying for position as either A) A well-known flamer/troll such as Hazy or NGG B) Prommie-extraodinaire And it's sickening really, but there isn't much else you can do about these things... it's just the way things have turned. D': I hope your mod-ly duties aren't too stressful. I think you should just go crazy one day and post a bunch of "I'm Zahir, I'm a Mod and I'm Pissed as Hell" threads. xD Grr. mad

	Well obviously they're outraged because on the rare occassions where we get off our lazy, good for nothing asses and do something, we make a point of warning the prommies for perfectly acceptable posts, while deliberately turning a blind eye towards the spammers and forum invaders. Clearly this is the only explanation, or no prommie would ever get warned or banned, as they are infallible and are all looking out for the best interests of Gaia. Yep... rolleyes stressed

	That made me laugh. Of course prommies don't expect to be punished because, well, their st smells like the dainty roses that grow by the riverside where children laugh and play in the warm sunlight. And then there's the fact that they're just a bunch of teens. We all know that teens think that they're better'n everyone else. I know I do. surprised**
