O.K.
I'm writing a story I'll keep you updated every few chapters I write
Here's the first 3:
Chapter 1
“Tama please! I told you to stop acting like this,” my best friend Mika pleaded with me.
“You’re the only one that likes me, that’s the way it’s always been.” Although Mika wouldn’t admit it aloud, it was true. I don’t blame anyone though; I don’t even know why Mika puts up with me. Ever since we were little kids this is the way it’s been: I do something stupid and Mika tries to help me and stop all the other kids from laughing at me. She’s always getting me out of trouble. Not to say I’m not glad that she’s always been there, I am, but I just don’t know why she hasn’t given up on me like everyone else.
“Tama listen to me!” I could tell Mika was starting to get PO’d. I don't blame her though. “You’re my best friend in the world! You’re my favorite person in the world! Why can’t you see how important you are?” She paused for a second; I could tell she was thinking. “I have an idea!!! Lets go do something fun! Just me and you.”
“Wait, Mika wants to do something fun this can only mean one thing-”
“Shopping!” We both shouted totally in sync.
I’ll admit Mika and I aren’t the girliest girls. Still shopping was something that we both loved, especially when we shop together.
Since it was a Friday we spent the whole night shopping. We went to all our favorite stores and then some. I bought three things: a red tee shirt with a black rose on it, a cute pair of black jeans, and a pair of black sneakers with stripes of gold on them. As expected Mika bought way more than me. She bought seven things: two pairs of jeans one faded the other black like mine, three tee shirts two pink and black and one red and black, a chocker, and a ruby ring in the shape of a skull. A total shopping success!
We got home around 7:00pm. As soon as we walking in the door we heard, “Hi girls!” It was my mom. “So how was your shopping trip?”
I put on my best smile. “Oh, it was pretty good,” I paused. “So mom I was thing, can we have a sleepover?”
“No.”
“Why not? Mrs. Nishi said it was all right with her.”
“That’s because Mika’s mom doesn’t have to put up with you if you’re over here. And you girls had one last week.”
“No we didn’t have one last week, that was two weeks ago!”
“Come on, please Mrs. Obata?” Mika put on her best puppy-dog face. We both knew my mom couldn’t help but cave at Mika’s puppy-dog face. Actually no one could. Mika had the best puppy-dog face in the whole entire world.
“Oh stop it! Fine you can have your sleepover. You can’t sleep in your room though it’s to close to mine, and I know you’ll be up all night.” She was right, we talked all night, when you’re with your best friend you just can’t sleep.
“So we’ll set up the tent in the back yard, OK?”
She nodded.
Chapter 2
We set up the tent and positioned our sleeping bags just right so our head were sticking out of the tent. This way we could wee the stars. That was the best part about sleeping outside, the stars.
“The stars are so pretty tonight,” Mika said.
I nodded my head in agreement.
For a moment we were silent, gazing at the stars in wonder. “Hey look the big dipper!” Mika was pointing at a constellation shaped like an ice cream scoop.
I was staring at the big dipper when I noticed, in the corner of my eye, a star shining brighter rest.
It’s probably just a planet, I thought.
The star kept growing bigger and bigger. “Mika do you see that star?”
“What star?” She looked around. “Oh my God! What’s wrong with that star?”
Right when she said that a light beam shot down from the star and surrounded me. That’s when I started to panic. “Mika help me!”
I started to float toward the star.
Mika held out her hand toward me. I clutched it like my life depended on it. For all we knew it could’ve.
As the star pulled me farther away from the ground I pulled Mika farther with me. “Mika let go, I’m just taking you with me!” I tried to struggle free from her grip but she wouldn’t let me.
Then a big flash of light surrounded me and for a split second all I could see was white.
We hit the ground with a loud thud. “Ow!” I shouted. I looked around. “Hey where are we?” Mika was sitting next to me, and she was looking around too. All around us were trees, trees, and more trees.
I looked behind us. “Hey look, our tent came with us!” We both crawled inside. “And all the stuff is in it!”
“We have our snacks too!” Mika shouted (in my ear). “Lets stay here, and then we’ll explore in the morning. Maybe there’s a town nearby.”
“OK. ‘Night.”
“Goodnight.”
“Good morning star shine!” Mika sang at the top of her lungs. And to be honest she wasn’t the best singer.
“Ugh!”
“Come on, we have to find out where we are,” Mika sounded pretty excited. Actually so was I. We’re in an unknown land we have to find out where we were and find a way to get back; it was sort of like Survivor.
“OK. Lets changed in the clothes we packed for today, then we can get going.” We had both planned on wearing our clothes we had just bought. Unfortunately we hadn’t picked the best day.
“Hey I have an idea! One of us should climb in a tree and see if there’s any town that we can see! I volunteer you.” I gave her a you’ve-got-to-be-kidding-me look. “You know that you are stronger, and I’m afraid of heights.”
“Fine.” If these jeans ripped she was so buying me a new pair. I started climbing the tree. When I got to the top I saw a small city to the west (I think it’s west).
“See anything?”
“Yea, there’s a town that way.” I pointed towards where the town was and we started walking that way.
Mika and I packed all the stuff in our duffel bag that we had used to carry our clothes to the tent the other night. The trees shaded us from the sun so after a while of walking in the dark we pulled out our flashlights. For a little while we walked in silence. “Hey I think I see a light through the trees!” Mika shouted, so much for the silence. We both started running full speed toward where Mika was pointing.
“Wait,” I said. We both stopped running.
“What is your problem? We’re almost there!”
I pulled out my mirror, my brush, and my makeup kit. “This is my first time at wherever we are, and I want to make a good first impression. You want to go looking like you just woke up be my guest.”
“Good point.” Mika pulled out a brush and a mirror and used my make up. She wasn’t aloud to where makeup but whenever we went out she used mine.
“I think we look fabulous enough!” Mika said after finishing up putting on eyeliner. I took one more look at myself and then we started walking again.
Chapter 3
“Oh my God! Tama can you believe this?”
I stood there too stunned to speak or even move. Before me was a town like no other. It was even bigger than Tokyo!
It was HUGE! Every house was at least two times the size of my house. And they weren’t made of something that looked like a mix of glass and metal. I don’t know exactly what it was.
“Hello ladies,” some strange guy said.
“Huh?” I asked. “Who are you?”
“Taro! Leave them alone,” a girl came up to us and said. Then she smacked him. “You’re such a pervert!” Then she turned to us. “I’m sorry, that’s Taro Manami, and my name is Leiko Yuki. Do you want me to show you around?”
“Hi, I’m Miki Nishi, this is my best friend Tama Obata,” Mika introduced us, and I waved. “We’re not really from around here.”
“I thought so, your clothes are pretty odd.”
Mika and I looked at her in awe. What a rude girl, I thought. I could tell Mika was thinking the same thing.
“Where are you from anyway?” Leiko asked. I decided I didn’t like her.
“First where are we?” Mika added the same rude tone Leiko had.
“You are in Azmad, a very small town in Quagtex,” Leiko sounded nice and polite now.
“Quagtex? Never heard of it. Is that some place in Africa?” asked Mika.
“No! Quagtex is a planet duh! Whatever planet you come from must not be very smart.”
I was too shocked to speak. So shocked, indeed, that Leiko’s rudeness didn’t bother me. So many thoughts were running through my head. We weren’t even on Earth anymore!
I snapped back into reality when Taro picked me up. “Leiko don’t be so rude!” Then he started petting my head.
“Leave her alone you pervert!” Leiko shouted. Then she stomped on his foot causing him to drop me.
“No need to be so tense Leiko. That might turn off some guys. Not me of course though, you’re too beautiful to be offended by,” Taro said.
“Like I care what you think, you damn pervert!”
I started tuning them out now. Mika gave me an it’s-a-perfect-time-to-get-away look. We slowly started to sneak toward the town. When we got about five meters away we started to run.
There were so many people in town. Everywhere I looked there was something I had never seen before. It looked like something out of a cartoon. This place was amazing and I-
“Hey watch where you’re going!”
I was so caught up with everything that I accidentally ran into a boy that looked about my age.
“It was an accident so you should just shut up,” Mika said saving me again. “Honestly is everyone on this planet so rude? First that Leiko girl-”
“Wait, you saw Leiko?”
“Could you like not interrupt me? Yes she’s arguing with that one Taro guy. Why do you care?” Mika answered.
“You left her alone with Taro? That pervert!”
That guy started running where we came from. He was really fast. I, being on the track team, was pretty fast too. Soon I caught up to him. Mika was far behind both of us.
“What is you’re problem? You don’t just run away from a conversation like that! You didn’t even tell us your name,” I sort of shouted at him, while we were still running.
“My name is Ronan now leave me alone!”
I stopped running.
“How can he be so rude?” I muttered to myself.
Mika finally caught up to me. She was panting really hard. “Huh? Why’d you stop? Hey, where’s that one dude?” I just ignored her and walked back towards the town. “Umm…. Did he say something to piss you off? Maybe we should, well you know, go after him. We might have done something wrong.”
“Fine, but if we did do something wrong I won’t apologize.”
We started walking. We were quiet for a while. I was thinking about how rude Ronan was.
“Tama,” Mika said. “I don’t know if you’re mad at me or whatever but…. I don’t know never mind.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, the truth is, I’m really scared. I don’t know where we are, some weird planet millions of miles from home. I mean it’s kind of cool here, but what about my family? I miss them.”
“I’m really scared too. But since we’re here lets try to make the best of it. Let’s not let some jerk like Ronan bug us. We should have fun here. If anyone could find their way home it’s us two.”
“O.K. Now, lets go kick Taro’s a**!” I hugged her. Then we started running. I went slower so she could keep up with me.
“Ronan back off, I had her first!” I recognized the voice. It was Taro. He was holding Taro just like he was holding me. Except he was holding her closer and tighter so Ronan couldn’t get her.
Mika started sneaking behind Taro.
“Hey Taro,” I said in the most girly voice that I could manage. He turned to see who could actually be looking for him. When he saw me he looked really confused. Then Mika ran and pushed him down, making sure the way he fell would put Leiko on top.
“Run!” I yelled all four of us ran back toward town. Mika and I followed Ronan and Leiko. For the first time Mika ran as fast as she could which was not much slower than me. We passed the same giant buildings as before, but this time we went further. We stopped at a restaurant. Ronan and Leiko went inside and sat down at a table. Mika and I followed their lead. A waiter came up and said, “Hello again Ronan, what’ll it be today?”
“Four roslers on me.” As soon as the waiter turned away he turned toward Mika and I. Then he asked, “So, why did you decide to follow me?”
“She made me,” I said. Mika elbowed me. “Ouch, that really hurt.”
“We wanted to help,” Mika said smiling.
Leiko laughed. “So you never said where you were from.”
“We’re from Osaka, Japan. Umm… That’s on Earth,” I answered.
“Really, Earth. We don’t get many people from Earth here. I think my uncle knew someone from Earth but I’ve never met anyone from Earth,” Ronan said suddenly interested in the conversation.
The waiter interrupted by giving us our conversation to give us our roslers. It turned out that a rosler was a very high quality drink on Quagtex. It tasted sort of like a cross between Root Beer and Sprite and had whipped cream on top. After taking a few sips I said, “Yea we came from Earth. But I’ve never even heard of Quagtex up until today, none the less met anyone from here.”
“Well that’s odd, we have many people go to your planet. I don’t know if they’re undercover though. Actually when I was about six years old that’s what I wanted to do when I grew up,” Leiko said.
“Yea, I hear most people that go there come back as mental cases,” Ronan said.
I gave him a look of disbelief. “Excuse me?”
“I was just kidding,” Ronan said laughing to himself.
I decided it was about time for me to shut up. So I just drank my rosler. While Ronan was staring at me, I didn’t know why though. I didn’t really care I just wanted to go home.
“By the way I didn’t catch your names,” Ronan said. I gave Mika an it’s-your-turn-to-talk look.
“Oh, I guess you didn’t. I’m Mika Nishi and this is Tama Obata,” Mika introduced us. It sounded weird when she said my name. I’m not sure what was weird maybe after all that went on I didn’t even recognize my own name.
“Tama.” He pointed at me. “Mika.” He pointed at Mika. “O.K., I’ll try to remember that. By the way Mika is a very pretty name.”
“Thanks,” Mika said.
I just sat there with my arms crossed giving him a death stare, which he seemed to be pretty happy about. After a few minutes of him soaking in how much he seemed to bother me, he said, “O.K., and Tama is a little pretty too.”
Leiko laughed and elbowed him. You could tell how much Leiko liked him. She had a huge crush on him even if she hadn’t said much. Just to make Ronan uncomfortable I decided to say, “So are you two dating?” Ronan blushed. That satisfied me enough. “Is that a yes blush or why does everyone say that blush?”
“That wasn’t a blush,” Ronan said. “And no we’re not dating.”
“Yea, but he’s just my best friend,” Leiko said. At that Mika rolled her eyes. I fought not to roll my eyes. How very unconvincing.
“Oh, I see,” I said, hiding a giggle. Mika was just smirking.
“So,” Ronan said. “It looks like you’re all done do you want us to show you the rest of town.”
“Where are we going to live for like tonight or the rest of the time we’re here?” Mika whispered to me, as we followed behind them.
“You can stay with Leiko,” Ronan answered before I could say that I had no clue. “Is that O.K. with you Leiko?”
“Yea, it could be fun,” Leiko answered.
“Will your parents care?” Mika asked.
“Parents? Oh yea, on Earth you live with the people that made you. Here on Quagtex you live at your school. I think on your planet they call it a boarding school. At least that’s what I’ve heard.”
“How do you know all this stuff about our planet, and we’ve never even heard of yours.”
“I’ll explain that inside, but here is the school.”
