The pain-of knowing there’s already

The rain-slowly dripping
Down my face
Because I know she
Is taking my place

Could it ever be
You and me?
No…
How could that be?

I can’t fill the gaping hole
You’ve drilled into my soul

Penetrated my heart

Over the edge, past the gate

Beyond my reach, leeching my soul
