Stephanie chose the seat near the window. She got to see the desks much better now that she was sitting at one and I think now would be an appropriate time to describe them to you. The desks were no more then small tables about as thick as two math textbooks. That’s because this classroom didn’t use books but rather it had a small button on the left side of the desk when you pressed that button a laptop slid out and opened on it own, so as you probably guessed by now this classroom used the computers which already had programs in there to serve for workbooks, textbooks, even for there tests. Well do you still think the classroom is normal? Anyhow Stephanie sat down at her desk and the girl next to her smiled at her. “Hi my name is Evelyn.” “Um hi my name is Stephanie but I suppose you already know that.”Stephanie replied. “ Well I’m going to call you Stephi is that ok?” Evelyn asked. “Sure if its alright for me to call you Evey.” “Sure of course its alright.”Evelyn says with a big smile. Evelyn had golden brown hair and big bright blue eyes with green rimming it making it appear like the vast blue sea. Since it was Monday they had computer lab in the morning, but naturally since they already had the laptops there was no actual computer lab instead each class’s “computer lab” was the same as their homeroom. Everyone pushed the buttons on their desks the girl who’s laptop slid out first let out a shriek. Evelyn walked over to the girl who happened to be a good friend of hers and started to ask “What’s wro…?” but stopped as soon as she saw her friend’s laptop. Curled up on top of the laptop ready to strike was a king cobra! The snake was light brown with darker brown stripes near the head were two small black dots on either side of its distinctive oval like neck and on the back of its neck was a black and white dot that looked like a target. The cobra drew back and hissed then suddenly and quickly drew forward nearly striking the shocked girl. The girl got over her shock stood up and kicked the cobra against the wall. The teacher meanwhile had called animal control. A few days later after the incident with the cobra on a Friday to be exact it was very early in the morning. Well everyone got settled in and got ready for school and all that what not, and just as the teacher started to say something the classroom began to get hotter and hotter. Then Evelyn heard a slight crackling sound coming from near the desk besides the water fountain. One of the boys must have heard it too because he walked over and peered into the desk the second he looked in the desk he jumped back in alarm and shouted, “The desk is on fire!” Stephanie could hear a small giggle coming from there and the light sound of footsteps heading towards the door and finally the footsteps faded. Stephanie frowned but just as she was about to make up an excuse to leave the room the fire alarm rang. The fire was spreading rapidly and the ghost had also set multiple rooms on fire. Everybody in the room got up in a panic as a message came over the loudspeaker, “Everyone please remain calm! This is NOT a drill! I repeat this is NOT a drill! Everyone please evacuate the school building as quickly as possible!” The class got a hold of themselves again and quickly left the room and headed down the stairs, the classroom was on the third floor, to evacuate the building. When they had gone outside however Stephanie said quickly to Evelyn “I’ll be right back! Please don’t tell the teacher I left!” Evelyn nodded but curiosity got the best of her and she followed Stephanie into the burning school building. What she saw then and there was beyond her. Through the bright red and orange glow of the flames and the blinding smoke she saw Stephanie running on ahead Evelyn quietly followed and she saw Stephanie suddenly stop. “Ok! I know your in here! You might as well come out!” Stephanie shouted at nothing. Evelyn thought she was going crazy but then she saw something bend the light something she could only see the faint outline of but Stephanie seemed to be able to see it fine. Evelyn heard a rustling noise and then the outline seemed to start to run it ran and jumped the flames. What exactly was it you must be wondering by now what exactly Evelyn saw? Well this is it. Stephanie started to follow the thing and when it went through flames Stephanie followed and instead of burning or catching fire like anyone normally would…she walked right through the flames. Evelyn held back a gasp because as Stephanie walked through the flames her body became slightly transparent Evelyn decided that she would have to ask Stephanie something later but for now she was just going to follow her. They arrived in the classroom after they followed the thing. Stephanie had a mean glare-like look on her face she muttered something Evelyn couldn’t hear and she held out her hand flames leapt across the room and engulfed the thing. A laugh rang out through the room and the flames leapt apart. Evelyn watched as Stephanie seemed only to get more frustrated. Suddenly the ceiling above her in began to cave in Evelyn leapt aside with a shriek as the burning wood fell down where she was standing just a second ago. Suddenly Evelyn found she could see the outline perfectly clear…and it looked just like Stephanie! The only difference was that its hair was bright red. Evelyn held back a scream as the thing launched fire at her she closed her eyes and held her hands in front of her to protect herself. When nothing happened she opened her eyes and saw water swirling around her hands. Stephanie didn’t look to surprised but instead said. “It would seem that you have magical powers too, and your specialty is water.” Stephanie said with a grin. Evelyn didn’t need her to say it twice she motioned her hands in and arc and water sprayed over the fire putting it out. Stephanie meanwhile had started chanting something she again couldn’t hear. When Stephanie stopped the Stephanie-look-alike turned into a glowing ball and Stephanie picked it up she then pushed it towards her chest and the glow seemed to sink into her body. Stephanie looked at Evelyn and said “I’ll tell you the truth later.” The rest of that week Evelyn continued acting as if nothing had happened during that fire but inside the same question gnawed at her, What did Stephanie mean “I’ll tell you the truth later?” By the time it was Thursday Evelyn was more troubled then ever and nearly forgot to write down the website for the days assignment.
