The Freaky Life of Freaky Zaphie!
Within these faded pages lie tales and entries of darkness...terror...and downright freaky-ness. To read is held within may contain...certain...prices. Afterall, this is...a journal. Muwahahahahaha!
The Dream: Meaning Found
I've been thinking of the tale of Tristain and Adriene all day, finding many symbolisms and ideas within the dream. The time is set in the dawn of the Appocolypse, where the world is being devoured by war, hatred, and natural disasters. There are so many earthquakes, actually, that some armies can't fight without toppling over or being crushed by high buildings and trees. In the beginning, it's Christmas, a warm and happy time amongst all this fear. By getting to know Adriene's family (his widowed mother, brother, and sister), it's clear that they have mixed views on different races and religions of people. They're not like, "All homos suck! They must die!", but rather are like, "God doesn't like homos...". Adriene loves his family, so it hurts him to keep his secret. When he and Tristain are taken as prisoners of war, they're tortured and are used as lowly slaves, just because they love each other. The soldiers are merciless. While the two boys might be standing perfectly still amongst them in a room, the drunk soldiers mock them. One says things like, "I tell you my wife's a goer! Something these thugs don't know about." This symbolises most homophobes and gay-haters who are married or like women. They might like women, but only for one thing. Sex. Adriene and Tristain don't harbor such a relationship. Sure, they get down and dirty in the manga, but it is more subtle and romantic. It's clear that they really love each other as opposed to the soldiers and their relationships with their...whores and what not. I hope you're hearing me out and understand what I'm saying. Basically, while the soldiers (symbolising hatred and war) are ugly, Adriene and Tristain (symbolising love and goodness) are purdy. ^.^ And it also goes to show you throughout the manga, that the two lovers are very loving of God. Adriene has a golden cross on a chain, given to him for Christmas by his super-Christian mother. The soldiers take it from him and throw it in a fire pit. Adriene is taken to this pit to burn. While there, he finds the necklace and his faith in God is restored. Also, for fear that Tristain will die before he does, he prays to God, asking that Tristain be spared and that Adriene dies first. Adriene does die first from the poison, but both of them are taken to Heaven instead of burning in Hell. Most of the gay-haters will say that since God doesn't like gays, the gays are sinners and will burn in hell. Instead, just because Adriene and Tristain have faith in God, they are accepted despite their relationship with each other. God loves his children for who they are and will forgive and accept them, if they love him like he loves them. So, for all you gay-haters and religious fanatics out there, GO CRAWL INTO A HOLE AND SOPHOCATE! Seriously, I think I dreamt this, because I'm sick and tired of all these people saying stuff about homosexuals and bisexuals that aren't even true and half the time, the speakers don't even mean what they say. My family are also prejudiced against gays. They keep it mild though, at least my mom does. She knows that I support them, so she won't say anything to upset me. She tries to be honest by saying that homosexuals shouldn't be tortured and killed by other men just because they are what they are. And what they are is human. Humans+killing other humans=murder. And that, my friends, is something God doesn't like. The End.
