Can't Let Go
Days and days go by,
And still I can't let go.
The child inside me screams at me to hold on.
The adult calmly tells me to let go and live my life.
But, who do I listen to?
I am split into two people, who don't want to unite.
I'm left with a decision that could alter my life.
Should I let go and be happy?
Or should I hold on and slowly wither away,
Like the flower one always forgets to tend?
I'd like to move on and grow stronger.
But, bad memories keep me from reaching this goal,
So, I'll just have to hold on until my dying day.
I can't let go.
