RPs are starting to make me mad. I remember years ago when I ran a place that was open to literates. It had no plot at the beginning, but the interesting characters within it made it so awesome. I liked them. I miss them.
I've tried recreating that experience through other RPs. The literacy standard has dropped significantly since summer of 05. Those that are literate... or somewhat so... don't seem to want to create a good plot. They would prefer to pair up.
I'm in one RP now. One. There are maybe nine players, including myself. One relationship pretty much pre-existed. Another formed within the first day. Another.... same. There is one character that talks to my characters. She is horrible. She can't spell, she can't think creatively, and she can't write more than one sentence at a time without trying very hard to do so. But her character is the only one that will talk to mine.
I make an effort to interact with other characters. I have Garrett mill around and introduce people to other people... Adja has a very strong personality that people normally react to, even if all she does is follow him around. She's mostly a foil character, but a good one. As soon as the one character meets a male character, she goes straight for the jugular. Of course, not my male character. My male character is played by a girl and is therefore not attention-worthy.

So now I'm back to RPing with myself again. It took me two days just to get someone to notice me. -sigh-
