Stereotypes. They're everywhere. One of the worst (in my opinion) "Anyone who wears black/dark colors is emo/goth." Ok, so it might be true sometimes, but not all the time. I just moved, and within a few weeks of starting school, I had been asked; "Are you emo?"
Ok, in my case it's true, but *most* of my new friends wear black almost everyday and they're not. Then again, I suppose my going out with a known "emo", my -as of writing this- bf, didn't stop the rumors, but still.
Another thing I hate, the assumption that all emos are gay/les/bi. Ok, again, true in some cases, but not in others. Within 3 days of being outed as a "emo", I was asked (rudely might I add) "Are you a lesbian?"
First reaction: What the Hell? And I said as much. I am (for now) completly straight. But maybe if they ask again, I'll tell them "No, sorry to disapoint, I'm bi."
Who knows?
-edit- I am bi, for anyone still reading this.
