Every year the family comes,
Bringing lot's of food.
Celebrating this special day,
Gets everyone in a happy mood.
We greet one another warmly,
There are smiles on every face.
Soon everyone is telling stories,
And laughter echoes throughout the place.
The women set the table
And the men bring in the chairs.
The children gather around,
It's time to say the prayer.
We feast on yams, rolls, potatoes,
Cranberries, corn and more.
There's pies, cakes, and puddings,
And turkey galore!
The meal is wonderful,
But it is not what we are here for.
We have come to say thank you,
For our blessings, too numerous to ignore.
