It was a 7.4 earthquake, it happened down in California, very near Oregon. The tsunami thing started as a warning, was downgraded to a bulletin, and is now just cancelled. I dunno why he was acting up so much. D= By the time he IM'd me the warning was already cancelled. Gah. 'Sides, we're far enough off the main coast that unless it was a gigantic tsunami (hah!) that could flow well over 80 miles, we probably won't notice anything. And it would have to hit our general area dead-on. >__> I guess he doesn't fully realize how large that strip of land between the coast of the Pacific ocean and the Pugest Sound is.
Map of Washington, if you'd like to see for yourself. I live in the Bremerton area, not Bremerton exactly, but that's the city we use when looking at the weather. XD

I like how the geologist-type guy on the news compared it to Backgammon.

In other new... *straightens her papers*

On Friday we'll be leaving for a trip to Hawaii, and we won't be getting back untill Saturday the 25th. We're going to Maui, and I'm dreading it. Not only does it mean I have to wear shorts, it means I'll be in the sun. And I burn really fast. >__> but it's suypposed to be kinda rainy... so that'll be nice-ish. I have other personal reasons for not wanting to go, so I expect I'll be really moody the whole trip. D=
I refuse to go swimming, but I might roll up my pants and get my feet wet. I want to go to the bookstore and get some paperback versions of books to read... all of the books I want to read we already have, but they're leather-bound and gold-plated. I don't feel like taking those to the beach.

Wish me luck! I'll have no internet connection while I'm there, and we won't have any television. So if you want something drawn, even a random scribble, PM me or something and I'll do it during my free time. I'm taking homework for my self-study summer classes, so I know I'll be bored. D=

I was watching the Tsunami warning on the news last night too. A resturant next to a beach here closed early for the evening even when the warning was lifted just to be on the safe side. I just live about 15/20 minutes away from a beach but I don't have to worry about a wave hitting my house because the wave would have to go over a very large hill and I live on a hill. Unless an earthquick happens in the bay then the wave might be hitting the lower part of the hill I live on.

I've been to Maui and it's fun and pretty there. If your family is renting a car go drive to the nothern most part of the island. The drive is scary because the road only fits one car but it's a two way street, you're on cliff so if you look out of the left side of the car it will freak you out, no rental cars are allowed there but my family didn't listen to that, and the drive is exciting and fun. There's a small village up there that sells small banana bread for $5 and it's worth the hair raising drive and money. It's the best banana bread in the world!!! Have fun! I would love to go back there!

What? You'll get back the day I leave! Nice job! I won't be able to talk to you until July 9... cry
And by the way, there is some curse if you take one of the rocks from the mountain or something. I read it in my bathroom reader book. xd So don't go taking a rock that is cursed! scream
