so i made dinner in all this heat, chicken stir fry...i separately seared the chicken and seasoned it with soy sauce, salt, pepper and a little garlic; at the same time i stir-fried some frozen oriental veggies in crushed garlic and a little sugar, and some fresh peppers and onions in ginger and salt; then i blended all three into the original pan and let the flavors mingle.

i was so pleased, nothing burned, and this would be a much more personal dish than anything from a restaurant.

so mom sat down and began dousing her plate with worcesterchire sauce.

of all things! it just drowns everything else out.

i was upset and showed it, and we had a fight.

she refused to eat. i refused to eat.

supper got cold, we got hungry, we ate in sulky silence.
