Cash Shop Update
Wow, lots of interest in Cash Shop. We tried to get it out today, but a last minute IE6 problem caused us to not push it out. (And, by the way, I will rant some day on the pure evil that is IE6). We're looking at the problem tonight, and if it's at all possible we will be pushing it out tomorrow ; I will keep this journal updated with the latest.

Remember, happy developers ship faster! Vote for us in the Halloween poll!

My Messy Desk
I think I've mentioned before that my desk policy and those of other people are not compatible (see the bottom of this journal entry), insofar as I believe that a slightly chaotic desk illustrates the creativity and dynamic nature of an individual, whereas those of a more conservative and narrow-minded bent, such as andylove, instead believe that messy desks are something that should be eradicated immediately.

So I'm walking back to my cube today and people are telling me, "I didn't do it!" This should have tipped me off, because the people saying this were the nefarious types that normally will stoop to anything. Instead I discover that some of my workmates have taken my "chaotic desk" philoshopy to the extreme:

They started with the plastic from the Halloween decorations, exercise balls, and miscellaneous cages for rodents.

What brings it into the regions of genius is the addition of the company mascot Christmas Tree.

Application of some packing algorithms and a good deal of weight by the team managed to maximize the amount of stuff in my cube.

You can see the conditions under which I have to work! Truly, my revenge will have to be carefully planned.

Why not IE in general? "Hey look at us, we're Microsoft. FU** Standards!" There's a nice saying with web developers. 30% time is spent on development. 70% time is spent making it IE compatible.

EDIT: Also, I don't see revenge in the near future D: Sorry.

Oh snap, you got served!

I'm with you, though; messiness is a way of life. Hooray for finding the order in the chaos!
Good luck with the revenge.

I think your revenge needs to be somewhere on the level of angry scorpions. With machine guns. Tiny machine guns, that shoot bees. Carrying ants.

Clutter is a sign of genius.

I mourn the obvious death of the Christmas tree, but after all, even the season of giving must come to an end. Before it begins. Or something.

I voted for you guys. I mean, come on, anyone with amazing artistic talent like the art team has can put together something amazing and spooky and totally awesome (and you have to admit, a sea of Boos is totally awesome) but for us non-artistic types, we're hopeless! Everyone oohs and aahs at the pretty pictures, but no one comments, "good God, man, your code is beautiful! Your indenting is masterful, your algorithms and your puny big-Oh bounds obviously wrought by a truly skilled hand!" Truly, beauty goes unappreciated in this world.

IE is what killed the whales.

Haha, that is genius. You should get revenge by hiding all of their pens and pencils. I'm messy, too. My room is.....unique.

The rodent cages are where they kept their pet grunnies. Till they escaped.
