Here is a story that I wrote. It is a true story, it's just twisted around a little bit. ^_^ Ok. So i know it looks really long, but really, it's not, so just read it anyway.

(10/12-13/07

They sat at the table, not saying anything for a moment. "Alice, if your going to act all depressed and quiet, then why am I just here doing nothing?" Nick asked.

"I may be quiet, but I'm not depressed", Alice snapped back.

"Fine, but usually you act at least a little bit happier than this. Seriously, is something wrong? I know something's bugging you when you walk at a pace. Remember? When we were walking up to this dump to get something to drink," Nick said in defense.

Alice thought,"You tried to get it out of me, but since the problem is you, I can't say anything. Because knowing how hard headed you are, you'll make a big deal out of it and take it the wrong way. And besides, I don't want to hurt you, no matter how much you annoy me."

To Nick, there was a long pause of silence. And know ing Nick, he hated that. Only because nothing much goes through his mind. Or so Alice thinks so.

"Alice, answer me," Nick said in an almost calm, yet demanding tone.

Alice just sighed an looked away. "if we're not going to do anything, and your not going to say anything, then I might as well go home.I mean, I have lots of homeworkand then football practice at 5:30. I'll call my mom right now." And on that note, Nick took out his cell phone, and started dialing numbers.

At the sight of this, ALice jumped up and grabbed the phone out of Nick's grip. A slight smile came across Nick's face.

"Ok.... Since I con't go home and we can't do anything interesting, I can do something humiliating ot you, if that's ho wit has to be," Nick said with a gentle smirk on his face.

Alice stood up from the chair she was sitting in to become eye level with Nick, to make her answer to that statment seem more seriouse.

Alice slightly glared at Nick. "Please don't. Please", she said with a voice that was almost begging. Alice saw Nick's expression change to a more evil looking one. Alice smiled, but in a joking way, she started to back up little by little.

"Oh, so now your running away." Nick took everything literally and seriuosly. And it always seemed to be in a joking way. But you could never tell. It was hard to get into his head. This was really starting to annoy Alice.

Alice stopped walking. She frowned at first, but then got a look of sympathly in her eye. "I'm sorry, I thought you would've known that I didn't mean it. I'm not trying to "run away", and you should've known that by now. Even after all the times you've said that to me and I've responded the say way." She walked over to Nick and gave him a long hug. It seems that Alice has been forgiven.

Alice amiled and sat back down in the cheap outside furniture chair that was outside the shop they were at.

"Nick does have a point. Today I'm not as peky as usual. I just have alot going through my mind. Most of which is about him. I wish I could tell him what was wrong, but I don't know if it would be the kind of thing that bug you. I guess I'll never know. Because knowing th state I'm in about it, I won't be asking you about it until I have the balls for the task. And that won't be for a long while," Alice sighed at the thought. "I have to do something about this.All of my problems revovle around it," Alice muttered.

"What?" Nick asked suddenly, hearing Alice mumble something.

"Oh, nothing, Just thinking," Alice repleid with a slight smile to show mothing was wrong. Nick smiled thinking this was the sign of happeiness out of Alice since they got to this little table.

"So, we're back to where we were about 5 minutes ago. Why won't you let me go home?"

Alice knew she had to answer him quickly before he came up with something stupid to say or do to her. Alice knew what she really wanted to say, but couldn't take the chance.

"What am I to you right now? Your entertainment value?! Huh?!?!" This was the first time Alice had ever really seen nick like this. ]But Nick quickly calmed himself. He looked at Alice with a seriouse, but calm stare.

Alice thought and thought, but couldn't come up with another excuse. She even studered for a moment. She was still slightly shocked from Nick's outbirst.

Alice wanted to say what she thought so badly, she knew she just had to get it out with.

"I don't want you to leave because I know I'll miss you once you're gone. Even if I want you to leave."

Little did Alice know that in reality her mouth didn't even move, let alone anything come out of it. She was so sucked into her argument with herself wheather to say something or not, she didn't notice Nick call his mom, and start walking over to the parking lot where his mom was.

Alice was in shock. "It's over. I lost my chance'', she said ina very soft voice. She got a hold of herself and just watched Nick leave.


There were so many things Alice didn't know about Nick, that would've determand wheather Alice told Nick how she felt. Would it be a drag to him? Or woudl it open a new door for the both of them? Who knows. This last part might not seem that hard to say to you, but for Alice, it was. And only out of oure fear. Why? Because she loves Nick, and she didn't want to make any mistakes by saying something. Or at least trying to. But sometimes not saying anything could be the biggest mistake you'll ever make. And Alice just made a very big mistake. In stead, she just let her chance walk away without being confronted. Somethings were meant to be left on a bad note, but this wasn't one of those exceptions.

This is a story of a stubborn boy, and a misunderstood girl. I may have made it alittle too mello-dramatic, but this is exactly what it was like going through the girl's head. It also may seem like not that big of an event, but it was more so just a learning point. So, I say on that note, if this happens to you, it may just give you a sneak-peek into each others minds.
