Quote:
Morpheus was the god of dreams in Greek mythology. According to some ancient sources - such as the Roman poet Ovid - he was the son of Hypnos, the god of Sleep. Morpheus briefly appears in Ovid's Metamorphoses:

"King Sleep was father of a thousand sons -
indeed a tribe - and of them all, the one
he chose was Morpheus, who had such skill
in miming any human form at will.
No other Dream can match his artistry
in counterfeiting men: their voice, their gait,
their face - their moods; and, too, he imitates
their dress precisely and the words they use
most frequently. But he mimes only men..."

Ovid therefore suggests that Morpheus only sends images of humans in dreams or visions, while his brothers Phobetor and Phantasos are in charge of depicting dream images of animals and inanimate objects. Together these three sons of Sleep - Morpheus, Phobetor, and Phantasos - rule the realm of dreams.

Why is that so ******** cool? >.>
Oh yeah... I'm a nerd. o-o;

I heard of the word name, Morpheus, from one of these songs. 8D I was all like, "who the hell is Morphoos??" so I searched it him. And there it was, explained up there in Ovid's Metamorphoses. ;3 Yes, it's awesome. No, I don't care if you think not. >.> Yes, this is another waste of an entry I made because I was bored.

mmk????

it's not bad. For poetry, though i rarely ever read any, I like Ozymandias better.
its full of meanings and symbolism. XD
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozymandias

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Argh, they're all cool. I don't read those type of things very much, I just happened to search 'Morpheus' and see that passage.

But way cool. >;D I'll consider reading Ozymandia's... erm... theory? a bit more. :3
