Ok, so I'll start off with friday after school, even though most of it has nothing to do with competition at all. So first off, me and catherine were gonna take mon's bus with her to her house to hang out for a while. Therewas somewhat of a mixup or miscommunication with alex and nahmi because we thought they were coming too, but they ended up going to sassy beads with tom. Whatever, it didn't matter much to me cause I was only gonna be there for a few hours anyway.

So we wait for the special ouside the school for quite a while and of course it never comes. The whole big group of us(the ppl who normally take that bus) walked to walkey. It was pretty cool I guess, i don't really get to talk to those ppl to often, so I didn't mind it too much. Lindz kinda did/said something that bugged me, but i'd rather just talk to her in person about it.

Anywho, we finally got to monica's house, the airconditioned, freezy equiped, pool furnished paradise. Catherine and I borrowed some tank tops and shorts and we all went went swimming. It was awesome, i love her pool.

At 5:30, we took the car and mon drove me home. We made a quic run through the drive through at Tim Hortons so I could get something to eat before demo. Mon had a little incident with the change which can only be told in real life because of it's comedic nature.

Jon picked us up for the demo at 6:30 and we got there with half an hour to spare. We chatted it up with all the other caterbury ppl till the demo started. Most of the demo was pretty good, they had too many patterns thought, and not enough combat. There were four former demo team members that did a ten minute thing which pretty much completly overshaddowed the rest of it. they did a really good job of it though.

The next morning I was quite tired because I had to get up early and I had been up late. We gathered outside for pictures, before heading in. We quickly formed a canterbury section in the bleachers.

I must say, I was quite impressed with how well every one was doing. everywhere we looked, someone we knew seemed to be winning a sparring math or getting high scores for patterns. We completly swepped for sparring in one of the green belt divisions. We pretty much cleaned up every where else too, it was awesome.

In the black belt division we got robbed as we always do. Biased judging and reffing seems to follow us like tthe plague at that competition. It's like they find out who our instructor is and need to put us in our place. While it's most evident in sparring, anyone looking at the scores in the women's patterns would have noticed a considerable discrepency in the scores. They gave a a girl from some random branch 7 1/2's and and 8's when she really only deserved 7's. Then one guy gave MT a 5, which is practicaly unheard of, while the other guys gave her 6's and 61/2's. Yeah, she screwed up, but not THAT badly. It was actually alexandra who pointed this out to me too, which proves thats other people have noticed too. Andrew was clearly the one who got the most robbed. He should have won that fight. Every time he kicked the other guys he'd fall down, which normally would have cost him half a point each time, but this time they did d**k all about. the other guy only scored a few points on andrew, but while Andrew got alot on him, they didn't count any of them because the other guy kept falling down. It was the most retarded thing I have ever seen. Blackburn was furious.

I did ok. My pattern was pretty decent, I don't think I could have done much better on it, so I have no regrets. Aparently the version blackburn has been teaching us is the demo version though, which i think is kinda funny, but not surprising. I ended up with a bronze, which is not as good as last year, but what can you do.

In sparring, I did ok. The girl had alot more experience thatn me and was faster. I put up a pretty good fight though, right up untill i got kicked in the jaw. Needles to say it was hard to come back from that and I lost. I got silver though, which which is what I get every year in sparring.

after the competition, me, mon, lindz, megs and missa all went out to denny's for dinner. We ran into Bobby on the bus, who was also going to Denny's to meet some people we know. We got a table beside them which was pretty cool. We hung out and had some laughs and had a grand ol' time.

Megs gave me and missa a ride to Paul's house for his party. We hung out on the marvelous trampoline, played ping-pong, mini pool and crazy eights and listened to some music. It was pretty fun, nothing spectacular, but still fun. We were all pretty tired, so there was alot of funny insults and such, or 'hahas' as jon call's them. we left at about midnight, and this morning, I slept through church again. what a shame.

When I went on the puter, i discovered that schafer had email me to say good luck yesterday, which really cheered me up. How sweet!
