Knights of Fanfiction - My Life Before Gaia |

NOTES: I might get a few laughs out of this, but take note that this is a true story. I'll give you some links and screenshots (if I can find it) to make sure that you all know that this isn't a lie, but real truth. My life before I found Gaia, and it changed me for the better part, even though I got some mental scars out of this. But this is how I found Yonder and Angel *waves at you two* and also learned a few lessons myself. The events of the Knights, as you might have guessed from the title, took place in fanfiction.net and at that time, my penname was Zantetsuken-Steel Bladed Sword. *coughs* Yes, a handful to say, but there's a story behind that name (linking me and my brother together) but it shall not be spoken because it really is irrelevant. xD However, if you're a fan of Rino-chan and if you're a fan of her journal (heavens forbid), you will come across me mentioning the Knights more than once, so if you're curious, the truth is here. On the 15th March, 2005, a thirteen-year-old girl came to fanfiction.net and set up an account under the name of Mystic Moon Magician where she proceeded to write stories in the Detective Conan/Case Closed fandom. MMM is her nickname on ff.net, but her DC/CC friends call her Rino, Rinoa, Rinoa Heartily, Rino-chan or Rinolino. She got the nickname "Rino-chan" from her close friend, Detective^Gurlz after joining a forum in detectiveconan.com - now closed down. Anyway, not long afterwards, Rino-chan changed the name 'Mystic Moon Magician' to 'Zantetsuken-Steel Bladed Sword', deleted all of her Detective Conan stories and moved on to the Sherlock Holmes fandom where she then started to write fics there.
My story starts here.
I was a Sherlock Holmes fan, no doubt about it. Still am, but not as much as I was before. I wrote numerous Holmes fics and got the small nickname of "Zant" from my friends. One day, 3rd July 06, however, I was scanning the fandom for new stories or chapters as usual when I stumbled along a fic called "Zion's Tree" written under the name of 'Vanguard Ziggy'. Usually, I'm thorough with new fanfic pennames in the SH fandom. And I've never seen anyone called Ziggy writing fics before, so I decided to check it out. I read the first chapter, decided that I might as well read the others, and once I finished, I dropped a review and clicked on his profile. Skimmed through what he wrote there and I found out that he has his own forums, so I decided to pay a little visit.
He has quite a number of forums and the one which caught my eye was one called 'Knights of Fanfiction'. I came in there and read through. It turned out that Ziggy here was trying to create a group of people to stop people from flaming others with what they have written and instead, try and drop constructive criticisms. Needless to say, with my personality some of you know so well, I decided to join up. I was the third member in the KoF. Ziggy being the leader and his friend, Heiduska, being another member. So the thing actually started as a group of three.
About a month after I joined up there (I can't remember what month this was in), someone under the name of 'Stinger-VXR42' came along and had an argument with Ziggy. It was something to do with pennames and I didn't understand much, but I couldn't stand it when they fought like that - so I actually scolded them and said to Ziggy that if he wants to help people against flamers, then being involved with a fight won't really help him. Ziggy agreed, Stinger apologised, and we continued... until Kaiser Scott made his appearance - another fight broke out in the forums.
Once again, I repeated my words, but seriously, at that time, I didn't really get what they were fighting about. It was quite plain that they do know each other from the Sly Cooper/Star Fox fandom - I learned that later on. But then, I always feel so guilty after I lose my temper, so I went back to Scott and dropped him a personal message, apologising for my rudeness when I shouted and whatever else there is. Naturally, he agreed and asked me to add him on MSN - which I did.
We talked for about three days. During those long, eventful three days, we got more members for the KoF and I think that it was around that time that Scott set up his own group, 'The Octavarial Empire'. (Yes; Knights, Empire... it's almost too good to be true - kinda like a sad Star Wars real film or something). Scott got close to me pretty quick during those three days and I learned that he was a nineteen-year-old school drop-out with a split personality, schizophrenic, and currently trying to find his partner in life. He called this made-up 'partner' Miyu.
Anyway, like what happened with most of my school friends, Scott here got a little bit too close and one night during the third day, he said that he had feelings for me... and with carefully-chosen words, asked me to live with him. Be his Miyu. All that stuff. And I was shocked - perhaps more than shocked, but could you blame me? I was fourteen! Without much thought, I declined him and I didn't think much about his feelings then because I must say, I was pretty scared. After three days, he already asked me to live with him... that was really, really scary. That was when his other personality showed up - or at least everyone believed that it was his second persona. I call him Oct because of his other nickname as The Octavarius. We fought over the internet and it ended with blocked usernames and another fight in the KoF forums. He said something about not wanting to rest until the group is destroyed or something like that.
Scott 'attacked' us regularly after that. I believe by then, I have already met Yonder and we were pretty close to each other. I then set up another forum using the invisionfree.com website (one of Ziggy's little suggestions) and we used that forum to organise what we should do and everything else in order to get everything done (flamers, etc.). It lasted for a few months, I must admit, and the link for that forums can be found here.
[[I just checked the forums and something looks really, really wrong. ._. It says there that the forums were created on the 2nd October 2006, but I registered on Gaia on the 31st August 2006 and I was sure that I've left the Knights by then. I guess not, but for certain, I left by January 2007 because I remember meeting Ayu. ^^]]
Someone then made it clear that they're against what we were doing. Aristarch's Advocate was the name, and a group of people called "Omnipotent Ones" which I've never been acquainted with that well. ._. I remember always saying that by then, I was tired and that I wanted to leave ff.net and I could remember an incident where, at one point, duplicate pennames were made. I had changed my name to 'Valerian Spellcaster' and I got a duplicate called 'Valerlan Spellcaster' who flamed and said that their main account was mine. All of those are members of the KoF. The discovery of that led me into deleting my profile and stories and whatever else, but I also had quite a number of extra usernames which I use regularly. Scott managed to discover a few because he's just content in destroying my life on fanfiction.net and I remember that around four or five times, Scott and I had private conversations (friendly ones) but almost all ended up with us yelling at each other again.
At some point during the fiasco and our fight on MSN, Scott managed to say one insult to me which I believe might never leave my mind, but I never really think about it nowadays - it scarred me. Around the same time, he said that "Scott" is now gone and that the only personality left was this "Octavarius" who I always hate. Since then, it really was only Oct who greeted us - if Scott really had a split personality, I have to say, I believe it. If not, then he acts well because Scott and Oct really act unlike each other. ._. Either that, or he's crazy... which I can accept as well.
Anyway, the days progressed with nothing happening BUT fights in forums and someone called Mafia Chick then turned up and tried to join Scott's 'The Octavarial Empire', but that was Scott's business so I don't know much. Earlier on during the year, Red Panda Bear and Ziggy made an agreement to send in a spy to Scott's forums and find out what The Octavarial Empire was all about (because if I haven't mentioned this before, Scott is also a flamer). Scott believes that Ziggy set up the KoF to kick him off from fanfiction.net, but seriously, the mods and admins in ff.net couldn't care less about actions of plagiarism or impersonations. I know that because they never answered us when we reported about the fake pennames.
The Mafia Chick incident happened at the same time as when AA showed up to curse our lives and that we're a bunch of people trying to ruin ff.net. I actually believed AA up to a degree and I was desperate to leave, but I didn't really want to leave Angel behind (not sure where Yonder was at this point, but she was somewhat involved still - both are Knights xD). The fights were rather endless in those forums and if you missed it, you'll find out that you have around 100 e-mails the next day with posts on what people had made during the fight itself. >_>
Steve the Hell showed up as well. He's my prime suspect with those fake IDs and he wanted to have a private talk to me, so I agreed. Asked me questions on how I met Ziggy and Scott and whatever else while at the same time, he kept on fighting with Scott like the rest of them even though I advised to leave it be. It really is confusing, but let's just say that the KoF did nothing but bring more and more fights and mysteries which is still quite unsolved. I accused StH of being the one to make those duplicates, Scott accused him of the same thing and he never really denied it. v.v But I've had enough by then and decided to leave once and for all.
We had a final conversation over MSN, Scott and me.. and here it is - this is also my Zant account, but I changed my name then as mentioned earlier. What Scott meant by the 'official forums' was actually the one I made and I'm an admin, naturally: Valerian Spellcaster
Who knows what happened after that - all I know was that I moved away from ff.net, came here, met Ayu and her roleplay, got new friends, new hobbies, new desires.. and am now living the normal life I could ask for which I never really got when I was involved with the Knights.
Easily said, this fight is actually between Scott and Ziggy with me tied in between without wanting to be. Ziggy had a row with Scott way before he set up the KoF and he made us all believe that Scott attacks us to destroy the group because he's evil and whatnot - but really, all Ziggy did was to run away like a coward while he let the rest of the Knights handle the trouble. I don't hate Scott as much as I despise Ziggy, but the fact that I hate the whole thing with all my heart would say that there's not much difference on how much I hate him anyway.
