He stumbled on through the storm. Thunder rang in the gutters over his head as he passed door after door. Stupid, he berated himself. Stupid! Should've known it was a trap! But he hadn't. It had been a friend... A friend who'd led him there.

Now he sat alone. Angry, anguished. He had nothing left. Not even his clothes. He fingered the bare spot around his neck. Nothing...

He stood slowly, trembling. His eyes were blank, wide holes of mud, face sunken, form stark against the nightscape.

Hands ushered him inside. Vengeful voices, one louder than the others. He sighed, hung his head.
"What'll you do?" asked one.
He bit his lip, mumbled.

Clothes once more covered his body. Familiar clothes. He brushed his hair from his eyes, smiling widely as he did.
