Next year I will take a momentous jump in my life. I will ask my friend David if he would be interested in being my escort, and over the course of a few months I will have to learn about three dances wearing an elegant white wedding dress. I will be a debutaunt. I have wanted to since I was in third grade when I saw those beautiful girls in white when I was a junoir deb. It will be my coming out party. That says I can date and tat I am a mature young woman ready to take on the world in a year and a half as a college student and legal adult. Unlike the debs you might be thinking about. Those southern bell prissy white girls. I will be an Alpha Kappa Alpha Deb. A oppertunity given to the Black Elite. I'll talk more about the next time. But despite where I like or how much money I have I am a member of the black elite by blood and by education.
