Maple Drive was busy with the sounds of playing children and residents. A game of street hockey was being played by the majority of the neighborhood kids, while there were others who rode their bicycles around or just sat on the curb of the sidewalk and watched the game. Two supervising mothers were deep in conversation, gossiping on the latest news and laughing nearly every other sentence. An old man and his wife sat on their porch watching the game intently, neither of them saying a single word to each other, other then which team they thought would win. Occasionally the old man gave a shout of victory when the red team scored, the woman an excited little 'woo' when yellow scored. When neither of them made a sound, there were only broad grins worn on their faces.

Just as red scored another point, a car was spotted coming slowly down the road. The two women had stopped talking; one watching the car while the other called to the kids to clear the street. Both goalies grabbed the large boxes behind them, the yellow goalie picking up the ball with her box, and skated off to the right side of the road. The rest of the players skated off to the closest sidewalk and watched the car pass by, some of the younger kids waving.

As soon as the car had passed out of the playing zone, all the players rushed back onto the street and the two mothers had gone back to talking. The goalies dragged their boxes back into place, putting them in between the tape markers they had set. The yellow goalie tossed the ball near the middle of all the kids and the game started up again.

Two boys who were riding their bikes came to a stop next to the watching kids on the right sidewalk. The oldest boy, who looked to be about eleven, spoke first, while the younger one just watched the game. "Whose winning, Ash?" he asked.

One of the girls who were sitting on the curb looked up. She looked to be the same age as the boy, and they both looked quite a lot alike. Both had dark brown hair, though the girl's was longer, hazel eyes and facial stucture.
