I walk lost in the unbroken chain
My eyes locked on the delicate flesh of ivory,
Not wanting to miss a single black impression.
I am consumed by them,
My reality melting before me.
As I hurl through a reality on another sort.
I am gone and am not me.
These leafs surround me.
I am deaf to you and your reality
Oh! This horrific world I see!
Of love and terror that do not exist.
I am sworn to live here,
Here behind the unbreakable paper walls.
I hide from cruel words and looks,
Here I am safe from all,
Behind the covers of my books.
