So yeah, Gaian Admins decided to perform a five-day rollback in order to secure order through the Network. Most people I know were affected adversely, but except for a handfull of losses, I actually came out in a better position now then I did previously. And although some prices on Market still threaten to go out of control, the monstrous inflations have been reigned.
If anything I view this experience as a 'Command Economy' decision by the admins to combat, and perhaps even squelch a potentially explosive situation that might have ended in a Gaian Recession. If anything, I was spread a little thin, previously....but now... now, I'm kind of glad that the Rollback took place. I finally broke my ceiling. I had, at the height of sales in my shop a total of 38k in gold. However, I have since then made a series of bids and purchases, so, I expect my gold to be under 30k, again...but it's almost exactly where I had it before.
Imagine...a Nov '04 letter selling for 10k. My gods, 'squee' is the sound of pleasurable riches pouring into one's pocket.
