Vickicat's Journal
A daily journal about stuff.
July 15, 2007
So today starts the boring stuff, as I knew it would. Alex came by to get her stuff, because as she's not very organized, her stuff wasn't even packed for her honeymoon, and she had to run in and grab a bunch of bags and clothes and stuff. And they left their dog in the backyard, which apparently they weren't supposed to do either. And they said bye and left. And so starts a boring day. My parents wanted to go eat lunch. I could have stayed home and played around on the computer like usual but since Kaz was at that guitar thing for the third day in a row I decided I might as well go with them so I could at least get some food. I knew I'd be dragged somewhere stupid too. Which of course I was. They wanted to go see some house that some relative lived in years ago. Took forever to find it. And for what? To see the outside of a house that someone who isn't even alive anymore lived in, which belongs to someone they don't even know now. The creepy thing is that when they finally found it and were driving around past it, some lady came to the door and looked out it. Like she was wondering why the hell these cars kept going by her house. She probably thought someone wanted to rob her or something. I sure would not drive past someone else's house like that, no matter who the house belonged to before. I wouldn't want someone getting pissed at me. They kept driving around to all these old places, some old graveyard, typical of my mom, she's such a weirdo with her genealogy crap, and that farm we visited one other time, luckily no one was home there, another house that used to belong to someone in the family and doesn't anymore, but the last time we were there, the people talked to us and took us inside and showed us the house. All I remember was it stinking like cow crap everywhere. I'm glad we didn't have to do that again. Finally we went to eat lunch at some place I'd never heard of. It was pretty good though. But geeze, I don't know how many days I can stand of this. Before at least, it was running errands with Alex and shopping at the mall, and I'm not even the kind of girl that's real big on shopping. But this is just terrible. When I got home I ended up playing with Alex's dog Zoe, and the dog from next door that comes over into this yard, Shelby. I thought I would introduce Shelby to Zoe so she could make a new friend, but Zoe wouldn't have it. She kept baring her teeth at Shelby and even growling some. I think she didn't want Shelby to have her frisbee, which I'd been throwing for Zoe. Shelby tried to be friends, but Zoe just kept refusing. So I threw the frisbee for Zoe, feeling bad about Shelby getting left out, but then my uncle needed to take her to someone else's house to watch her since they didn't want to have to watch her. So Shelby had me to herself to play with. No frisbee though, since that was Zoe's. Shelby even picked it up and took it to Zoe when she was in the van to be taken away. I thought that was cute. I ran around outside for a while with Shelby until it was time to leave to go to my grandparents' hotel. They were staying in a hotel for the wedding since there was no more room at the house, and it had a pool, so might as well take advantage of it. Unfortunately, when I got there, there were all these loud obnoxious boys in the pool. They were from some other country, and they shouted loudly in their language and splashed around and jumped and threw things in the pool. I was trying not to get completely wet, I get too cold if I get in all the way so I get in slowly, and these guys are splashing around and it's annoying as hell. I was actually thinking about getting out after about twenty minutes of this, when some family came with kids. When the guys saw they'd have to share the pool with a family they left. I was soooo relieved. So I ended up staying in a while longer. At one point the girl was in the deep end and said she saw a diaper at the bottom of the pool. Which would be really gross. I was gonna get out of the pool if that's what it was. Her dad came over and started joking with her telling her to go and get it and of course she wouldn't. I got out and was going to use the net thing to see if I could get it but then he went and got it and brought it up, and it turned out to be a shirt. Just that the way it had been lying on the bottom of the pool it had been in a diaper shape. Her dad teased her about it the whole rest of the time. I'm just glad it really wasn't a diaper. I finally got out when the sun started going down because then it got pretty cold. I sat outside for a while in my towel. Alex's gift came in use pretty quick, I'm glad she gave me that towel. Then went inside and just sat around for my mom to come get me. I got cold after a while and got under the sheets in the extra bed and my grandma didn't notice until my mom got there. Then she made a fit about how the maid would have to clean the sheets on the clean bed instead of just the sheets they had used, which makes no sense because that's the maid's job anyway and I bet they clean the sheets on both beds either way cause how would they know if anyone has slept in the other bed? But my grandma is crazy and she gets weird over the smallest things, my mom was annoyed about her saying that too because it's dumb. But whatever. My grandma will find something weird to worry about or be mad about and then everyone else has to listen to it. But it's never me that she's worried about. Noooo it's always everyone else, but I'm the one who can be blamed for stupid things. Like messing a hotel bed. But anyway, after that I came back, and just talked to Kaz and stuff as usual.
