No, seriously, I just got back from a week long Marching Band Leadership camp at Florida State University. Yes, I was at band camp for real. (Not the week-before-school-marching-band-boot-camp) I went because I'm going to be drum major for my band (HORRAY!!) and the band boosters funded the trip. I actually wasn't that exciting about going, but I didn't neccessarily have a choice.
So, I spent a week in a college dorm with three other people (thankfully not fat, smelly, flea infested girls gonk ). At first it was really...not....fun. But then I began to meet people and make lots of friends. There were at least 200 something kids attended this camp...all in high school....all from different parts of the state...and even from places like South Carolina and Pennsylvania. gonk It was nuts. Coincidently, I became with friends with these guys who actually live in the same area that I do and go to one of the local high schools. (One of which was quite cute.....totally got his number. whee )
ANYWAY, getting past the really terrible dorm food and the uncomfortable bed, the experience was pretty enjoyable. I learned different kinds of 'stationary fundamentals' and some really cool conducting techniques. xd I'm so very pumped for this marching season...it's going to rock.
This is all I really have to say, I suppose. I don't really feel like going into too much detail. I've had so many different people asking about this freaking camp that I'm tired of telling the story. stressed
I was most exciting about being at FSU, though. It's one of my prospective colleges. I LOVE the campus, it's so pretty!
