Alec likes Lana a lot but, his problem is that he can never say the right thing at the right time. He tries his hardest to get Lana to see how much he cares but, she can't seem to see him the way he sees her. So he decides to have the whole Love/Hate relationship with her that he had with Max. Whenever he comes near her and doesn't say a word to Lana she reacts differently as if he's telling her something without actually talking.
