I have to gaze at you from a distance
Watch as you fly away from me
With wings that were already grown
From the day that you had known
That this was not where you belong
Sometimes I did not encourage you
Or show the support I knew you needed
And it was then that we both hurt inside

The oceans that you have crossed

Threatened violence on those,
