Hello again my fellow watchers. It is time for an update on what is happening within the bowels of Bogus Meat Factory. Doctor Fear and I had our weekly meeting, this time, over a conference call as my cohort was unable to attend. The purposes of our meetings are to take a look at our goals and adjust our schedule accordingly. My goals revolved around a continual set up on the ground work of Bogus Meat Factory and its history by providing artwork information and, as usual, public relations with fellow animators and friends in the internet communities. Also, on the list was setting up accounts for Deviant Art (which a link to will be posted soon) and providing the necessary scripts for our upcoming comic strips.
Speaking of comic strips, you will be seeing some of these comics in this upcoming week and I hope that you will find some entertainment in them. They will be revolving around the alternate universe of the lives of Doctor Fear and me, as well as our interactions with the outside world. These are pretty simple comics to help pass the time until our animation project is completed and when I show them, like I said earlier, I do hope that you all will enjoy them.
Doctor Fear's tasks were to iron out the storyboards for our first episode. I was given a chance to see them thanks to the wonders of the internet and I have to say I am incredibly excited. Doctor Fear continues to amaze me with his abilities. As I watched this simple slideshow that played out across the screen, my mind was fettered with jubilant exuberation and I, to be blunt, squealed like a little girl with delight. There is no doubt in my mind on the quality of this product. It will be amazing for you the viewers (at least I hope it will be) and I am going to be chewing my nails away until the day you will be able to view it with as much excitement as I have.
Also on the list, Doctor Fear finished up our title animation, a very similar feel to our banner, but with a unique emotional twist that the good doctor has a penchant for. Also with that he gave me a few more images of practice work to help keep him sharp and on his toes and I will be sure to post a few of those in the HQ as soon as possible.
Also, I wanted to a moment to introduce you all to the Warcraft world and where our current project, "World of Warcraft: Venture Company Chronicles," falls in the timeline.
As many may or may not know, Warcraft resides in the world of Azeroth, lands torn by war between the human and orc races. Over the course of history, many battles were waged and many other races became embroiled in the torrential wars brought. With the release of World of Warcraft, Blizzard's Massively Multiplayer On-line Role-playing Game, the two races and their factions continued on in their feuds and battles, now with a massive audience to take part in the skirmishes.
We decided to set the stage for our project farther in the future of the world of Azeroth and create a sort of, "cold war," between the human alliance and the orc horde. What you see is very similar to the Cold War of American and Russian History. Tension is abound between the two continents in a stalemate with all of the races being able to intermingle, although very cautiously. We decided to move into this direction, because we felt that there needed to be a great change. The two sides in the war have fought over so many eras of their history and the game, World of Warcraft, presents itself as a bit of an inevitability towards the ,"cold war," idea. We wanted to exemplify that feeling and bring it into the world that we were improvising on to bring you a bit more of a unique and fleshed out world for your enjoyment.
Now, most of you have probably seen the animation we debuted a while back about a female blood elf we call Laine. If not, check out the media links at the HQ and you can watch it now. She is one of the three main characters involved in this story. Originally inspired by the character I created for World of Warcraft, Laine encapsulated the idea of a tomboy naturist. She was originally in the mage class, but I decided to change, deleting her and recreating her as a hunter. Doctor Fear and I decided to add that into her story, casting off the mage class against the desires of her family and move to a more in tune with nature feel.
This changed again when we decided to create WoW: VCC and she began to form more into a very impulsive and self-assured character. She is the younger of two daughters in the very political, House Salaa (a house created originally by us.) She embodies a mixture of ideas that I saw in myself, a personality that is both chaotic and calm, and both sides showing depending on the situation. I won't get into too much detail about her relation overall plot just yet (heck, I haven't even started on the plot), but know that she is the antithesis of her sister Zilombinae, the eldest and rightful heir to the house. I am always excited when writing for her since she is very fun and full of vigor. I cannot wait to divulge more information on her relation to the overall story, but for now, I will simply sign off, but not before posting a few images on how we took the in-game Laine and crafted her into the illustrated beauty that you saw from the animation.
Keep your eyes to the skies and thank you once again for reading.
