we walked at night on a dirt road high in the mountains. it was called "beartown road" because it went to an abandoned village called beartown.
it was dark, the moon had set. we forgot our flashlight. the dog was right in front of us, and we heard a thrashing crashing noise in the brush off to our right!
the loyal pooch went to investiagte and growled and barked, and whatever it was scuffled off. it was probably not a bear, because they will attack dogs.
but still, knowing that the road had its name for a reason, we just couldn't help thinking...what if...?
