OMGWTF!! SakuraCon 2005 was AWESOME!!!
So let's recap. Most of it was teriffic, but there were some aesthetic stuff *like certain people bring too much GODDAMN luggage!!* that really made my mood suck on Thursday and Sunday.
~*~Thursday night (driving up)~*~
Next year. LUGGAGE LIMIT!!! stressed stressed Seriously, how hard is it to pack for only 3 days?!?! I swear... Chris, Kelly, and I were sensible and packed a bag or a bag and a half of stuff for the con. what did Jeff bring? A HUGE duffel bag + a second bag. Not too bad. However, know what Becca decided to bring?? A GIANT suitcase and a 2nd suitcase just for food!! gonk After much struggling, we managed to fit everything into my trunk, but GODDAMN PEOPLE, IT'S ONLY FOR 3 DAYS!!!!
Made it up to Sea-Tac around 11:30pm after a stopover at Uwajimaya in Beaverton, where the fangirls squealed at Kinokuniya and we had dinner.
~*~Friday~*~
Had to wait in line to get my 3-day pass... SOOOO glad I got in line when I did though. @_@ The line wound around the corner and down the parking lot, then up the sidewalk at the top of the hill. XO Either way, got my pass, then ran back up to change into my con outfit. pictures pending. As for what happened after, two words; Dealer room. The sweet, sweet bliss of stepping through those doors and getting the Newtype JPN for April, hearing the guy screaming out "Yaoi!! Get your red-hot yaoi! These boys give it on the first go!", seeing all of the BEAUUUTIFUL swag just -waiting- for me to buy it...
Spent time (and $$) in there, then ran off back down to the Hilton for the AMV competition, then karaoke open-mic after I couldn't get into the karaoke contest. crying Oh well... maybe Fanime... At open-mic, met some Gaians there, and we schmoozed for awhile. ^^ You know who you are!! heart
~*~Saturday~*~
Slept in after a good round of UT/DDR/ParaPara, then went running around after I found I had missed getting tickets to the cosplay competition. hit up the dealer's room, where I found they still had tickets to the Kumiko Kato/angela concert!! Snagged one of those, then went nutty in the dealers' room *and the hentai corner XD* as well as purchasing my boken stick and some more swag.
As per usual for me, I was 20 minutes late for the Gaia meet, which was in the Hilton Lobby *a really long walk for me, who was staying up at the Mariott*, but got some really nice pictures. ^^ Planned a 2nd meet on Sunday.
After that, went to the most KICK a** concert SakCon has seen to date. Encore performance by angela was Cruel Angel's Thesis from NGE. heart
I still see images of that "dance" for Asu he no Brilliant Road (Stellvia's OP1) in my head though... for clarification, angela taught the attendees the dance and we all did it while she sang. 'Twas... interesting...
~*~Sunday~*~
Woke up late. Again. Rushed through cleaning up, then had MORE frustration trying to cram the swag-loaded suitcases into my car. I said it before, I'll say it again: LUGGAGE LIMIT! Not a good way to start the final day of the con.
Ran to the last Gaian meet, took more piccies, then ran back up to the Mariott to leave. Drive home was... interesting. Becca and Jeff... well, I could see something happening back on Friday, but... wow. Getting snuggly all there in my car... and of course my mood wasn't helped any because the luggage weighed down my car so much that the wheel wells were really low and close to the tires, so I worried everytime we hit a bump. ._.; Factor in an impending o-chem exam Monday along with a*****e drivers... let's just say that my friends don't know which to be more scared of;
