Tony is my trombone, for those of you who don't know. Well, he isn't actually my trombone but he does live there. Tony is actually a wondering spirit that lives in my trombone. He is picky about how I handle him as well as the case that holds him. Once I accidentally dropped the case down some steps... because he was mad at me he made me empty my spit valve multiple times, use tons of slide oil and I didn't play well that week. He also can be in a good mood. For example, when I don't bang him on anything, handle and assemble the pieces of his home(Mouth piece, slide and bell) and polish the shiny gold coating over the bras he is happy and allows me to play well. Most think I'm crazy but it's true. When I handle him well, I play well, when I bang the case on every door I walk through(It's hard NOT to do that) He gets angry and I don't play well.
